⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect Fall Weekend Getaway! We had an absolutely perfect fall weekend at Sun Outdoors Wells Beach. The cabins were spotless, cozy, and well-equipped—perfect for crisp Maine evenings. The setting was peaceful with beautiful foliage all around, and it’s conveniently close to everything we wanted to explore. Great place to stay for couples or families looking for comfort and relaxation. Highly recommend!

We stayed here as part of an RV fantasy tours group. Overall a very nice place with a lot of shaded spaces. The spaces are relatively small similar to most commercial campgrounds. The roads are paved although the camp space is gravel and the one we were on was relatively level. They have a nice camp store, playgrounds, and a pool if you're here during the summer. Although I will say getting in and out of the campground itself can be a chore as the traffic gets heavy in the middle of the day.

We had a very disappointing experience at Sun Outdoors Wells Beach. We visited as two couples (4 adults) and unfortunately made a mistake during the booking process. As Canadians, our English is not perfect, and we misunderstood the “pop-up tent” option. When we arrived on Friday evening, instead of receiving understanding or assistance, we were told the campground was full and that we could only stay one night, all four of us on the same site. This was especially frustrating because we had paid for two sites with water and electricity. We were simply told it was our mistake, and that there was nothing they could do for us. What made the situation even worse was the way it was handled. If the staff had at least taken the time to listen to us, it would have made a difference. Instead, we were constantly interrupted, not given the chance to fully explain, and left with no options. To add to the frustration, we were also charged an extra fee for a second vehicle, even though we had booked and paid for two sites, which should naturally include two vehicles. On top of that, we were not even allowed to park the second vehicle on our own site. This felt completely unreasonable. It is very disappointing to drive 5 hours expecting a weekend getaway, only to be told we had to leave the next morning. In the end, we had no choice but to leave and drive to Sun Outdoors Old Orchard Beach, and what a difference it was! The staff there were welcoming, helpful, and the whole place was much better managed. The detour was absolutely worth it. Unfortunately, this was a very negative experience, and we do not feel that the campground is welcoming to new guests.

The campsite was clean and well-maintained, though the sites were a bit cramped with little space between neighbors. Getting in and out was a bit tricky since it was located near an intersection and right off the main road—so traffic noise could be an issue. That said, it worked fine for us, as we weren’t planning to have a fire or spend much time sitting outside. The shade was a nice bonus, keeping the camper cool. We mainly used it as a base for exploring the area.

Nice, clean campground with a fabulous staff. We were in a 30' 5th wheel and had plenty of room. The laundry ($3) was very nice, and the pool area was beautiful. Beware of GPS directions. Our trucker app had us go beyond the campground entrance on the main road and into a dead-end neighborhood. Fortunately, a resident saw us and unlocked a gate that allowed us to pass through and back to the main road. Shwew! Turn in at the mini golf driveway. A grocery store is very close, and the beach is one mile away.

In the fall I secured a seasonal spot for this upcoming summer to quickly find out that my kids schedules would make it impossible for us to camp as frequently as we’d like. The manager agreed to give my deposit back as a camp credit, this was months ago and I have yet to see my camp credit. I have emailed multiple times and have been completely ghosted. I was planning on camping here still as we do like it, but if this is how they treat their loyal customers then I will have to take my business elsewhere. I always wondered why the campground always had so many sites available and now I’m starting to understand.

We stayed at Wells Beach Campground for years and just returned home from our second stay since Sun Outdoors took ownership. The grounds are well maintained and the staff, friendly. Improvements are taking place and a new pool is evidently in the planning for next year. Like other reviewers I found a corporate rather than a family feel. We discovered a problem Sunday afternoon and a phone call to the office for some quick information was met with a recording to leave a message. Heading out I met Alvin, a gentleman working camp security, accompanied by his dog, Macy. He went out of his way to help and checked back later that night as we enjoyed our campfire. Thank you, Alvin.

An excellent campground and so well maintained! Everyone was super friendly and helpful at the front desk and checking in and out was easy and hassle free. Felt super safe and comfortable there. Camp store was great to buy firewood and any other necessity. Bathrooms and showers were clean and a great time overall for our first trip out in our converted camper van!

This was by far the worst camping trip I’ve had in many years. The woman at check in made it very difficult to check into our sites, and the office was only open until 6pm on a Saturday night. Which is unheard of for a campground. She also expressed a lot of attitude about other campers and their policies, before we had even checked in. Our site was super small, and was taken over by our neighbors. Bathroom was very dirty, shower did not work, and no toilet paper, despite just being closed for cleaning. Overflow parking area was at the very back of the campground with few lights, not safe parking at night. Many off leash dogs walking past our site. Loud parties at night, with very inconsiderate and trashy people next to us, who should have been kicked out. Mgmt and security were very difficult to deal with when we had issues, which have still not been resolved. The only decent part about this campground was its location on Route 1. But everyone agreed we will never stay here or at another Sun Outdoors again. There are much better places who care about their campground and the experience you have. I will not recommend this campground to anyone, especially those with families.

This is one of the nicest and best maintained RV parks we have ever seen. We are traveling cross-country and have stayed in dozens of parks over the last few weeks, but this one really impressed us. Their premium sites have artificial grass patios, and the whole park is meticulously cleaned, swept, cut, and maintained. If you are an economy traveler, their standard sites are also comfortable, not overly close, and have grassy spaces. The showers are clean and very nice. There's even a mini-golf course on site that is very compact but decorative with waterfalls and brooks while also being quite challenging. We would recommend this park to anyone traveling with an RV; you won't be disappointed!

Very well kept, friendly, and reasonable rates. Phenomenal facilities available. But we were stacked on top of each other, literally as close as they can be packed in. The motorhome next to me was so close that there wasn't room between our fire pit and his slide out to put a chair. So we could only use half our fire pit, and he was not parked poorly. If you're looking for a nice, well kept place to come and sleep in your RV for a night and you aren't worried about spending time outside your camper while on the site, then it's 5 stars. But if you want to relax outside at all, you'll probably feel a bit wedged in and claustrophobic--hardly an outdoor experience at all--1 star. That balances out to a 3.

I wish that we had stayed longer. It's centrally located which could be a plus or a minus, for us it's a plus close to the beaches and restaurants. The staff was fantastic especially Karen, she met us at the entrance and checked us in and was very friendly and made check in a breeze. The site was a little snug was very well maintained and the grounds were insanely well kept. We will definitely come back for a weeks stay.

Nice campground. I wish every person alive could be as friendly as the awesome lady at the security checkpoint. She's awesome. Campground is crowded and sites tight together but for a place so close to the beach we expected that.

The campground overall was very nice and clean including the bathrooms. The staff was very welcoming and polite, especially Karen with her charismatic personality. There was another staff member whom had all the dogs literally running to him, they loved his daily treats. The campground was also on a great location close to Ogunquit Beach and all the area attractions. Will definitely be back next year.
