Wenatchee Confluence

Overview

Wenatchee Confluence State Park offers a unique blend of manicured parkland and wild natural beauty precisely where the Wenatchee and Columbia Rivers meet. As a year-round destination, this well-maintained state park serves as a vital recreational hub for the North Central Washington region. RVers will appreciate the spacious layouts and the transition from a suburban park atmosphere to the rugged Horan Natural Area, providing a balanced experience for those who want both modern comfort and immersion in nature.

Location & Surroundings

Situated on the northern edge of Wenatchee, Washington, the park is defined by its stunning waterfront views and easy access to city conveniences. It serves as the northern trailhead for the Apple Capital Loop Trail, a paved 22-mile path that circles the riverfront and connects to local urban centers. The surrounding landscape features a mix of high-desert hills and lush riparian zones, making it a scenic gateway to the Cascades while remaining conveniently close to local shopping and medical services.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is exceptionally RV-friendly, featuring dozens of full-hookup sites that accommodate various rig sizes with level, paved pads. Campers have access to clean restroom facilities, hot showers, and a convenient dump station for those passing through. Each individual site includes a picnic table and fire ring for evening relaxation. Active travelers can take advantage of the on-site sports courts, including tennis, basketball, and volleyball, while the expansive grassy lawns are perfect for family gatherings or recreational sports.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the park boundaries, visitors can explore the vibrant Pybus Public Market for local artisanal treats or take a short, scenic drive to the Bavarian-themed village of Leavenworth. Outdoor enthusiasts often head to the nearby Ohme Gardens for panoramic valley views or visit local orchards during the famous harvest season. The river itself is a major draw, offering opportunities for boating, jet skiing, and fishing, with a dedicated boat launch located just a short distance away at Walla Walla Point Park.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for active retirees and families who enjoy paved trail systems and easy access to urban amenities without sacrificing river views. Because of its large, level sites and easy navigation, it is also a top choice for big-rig travelers looking for a reliable and scenic stopover in Central Washington. If you prefer a mix of structured recreation and proximity to local dining rather than a remote wilderness experience, this park will perfectly suit your travel style.

I love this park. We have volunteered and camped here for 4 summers. The grounds show how hard the staff and volunteers put in to it. The head Ranger, Jose was always making everyone from guests to staff feel like they were his top priority. The parks has something for everybody. From lush, well groomed campsites, water access with beach and the famous Apple Capitol Loop trail that goes through it, you have it all. I really appreciated how clean and maintained the park was. Kudos for the best state park in the State of Washington!!!!! ( in my opinion:)

Came very late at night to empty the septic tank in preparation for a trip. Easy access to pump out station which was well lighted¹. Fee is $5 with park pass or $15.00 without. Envelopes and all pertinent park information is posted at the park check-in booth.

So we have been on an epic road trip this summer. We are on day 65. We're just about to 15,000, MI. We've been left. Nevada went through Arizona, Utah, Montana, Canada, Alaska back down through Canada now in Washington state. While it's been an epic trip, I've got to say that this park has been one of the most amazing parts of it. Just a beautiful place. Tons of shade. Plenty of room between sites. Really really nice staff and rangers cannot say enough good about it.
