Wenatchee River County Park

Overview

Wenatchee River County Park offers a manicured and welcoming environment for RVers exploring North Central Washington. Located in the small community of Monitor, this well-maintained county facility provides a peaceful respite right along the banks of the Wenatchee River. It serves as a perfect base camp for those wanting to experience the diverse landscape of the Wenatchee Valley, balancing the convenience of modern amenities with the natural beauty of the river corridor. The park is highly regarded for its cleanliness and organized layout.

Location & Surroundings

Situated between the cities of Wenatchee and Cashmere, the park boasts a scenic riverfront location that defines the guest experience. The surrounding area is famous for its fruit orchards and rolling hills. While the park is easily accessible from Highway 2, the thick vegetation and the sound of the flowing water provide a sense of seclusion from the main road. You are just a short drive from the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail, which offers miles of paved paths for biking and walking along the nearby Columbia River.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is noted for its lush green lawns and shade trees that offer relief during the warm summer months. On-site facilities are designed for comfort and convenience, featuring the following:

  • Paved pads and full hookups available for various rig sizes including large motorhomes.
  • Clean restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities for guest use.
  • A dedicated dog park and playground area for families and pets.
  • Recreational courts for sand volleyball and horseshoes.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The park’s central location makes it easy to visit the Bavarian-themed village of Leavenworth, located just twenty minutes away. In the nearby town of Cashmere, visitors can tour the famous Aplets & Cotlets factory or explore local history at the Pioneer Village and Museum. Outdoor enthusiasts will find endless opportunities for rafting on the Wenatchee River or hiking the rugged trails of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, which are all within a short driving distance.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for families and big-rig travelers who prefer a tidy, organized environment over a rustic forest service site. Its proximity to regional hubs makes it a favorite for those attending local festivals or visiting nearby wineries. If you value easy river access combined with the comfort of reliable utilities and manicured grounds, this park is an excellent choice for your next Washington state road trip.

A well-kept and peaceful park, convenient yet relaxing, with easy access to the Wenatchee River. The mature trees added beautiful color during our stay, enhancing the park’s charm. Facilities are clean and well-maintained, including the restrooms, showers, and laundry area. Showers operate on a quarter system, and the laundry room has a few machines. If possible, choose a site closer to the river; we’re not sure we’d have enjoyed being right next to the highway. The friendly, helpful staff truly add to the park’s warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The park was clean and well kept. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean. We love the park in the fall with all the leaves changing colors. Dogs had a wonderful time checking out the river which is very close to many of the spots. Twenty minutes to Wenatchee or Leavenworth. Great central place to stay.

Really quiet campground. Rules are a little uptight. I wouldn't come here if your group likes to party past 9pm. It was very clean and orderly. All in all a vary nice place.

Super clean, super quiet. River being right there was great. Had everything we needed, pump out, propane and ice. We will be back.

This was our 2nd visit to this park. Both times were great. Clean, not so quiet with road noise and train. But you learn to fade out pretty fast. I will stay again in the future.
