This place not only was right off the road we were traveling, it was easy to pull into and we were blown away at what a little oasis the place was. The owner was lovely and so helpful and the grounds were just a little oasis on the journey traveled. This place offers overnight as well as long term stays. The prices were fair for the site. Highly recommend and if we are passing through will stop again.

We felt like we were staying with an old friend. The day after we booked our site online the owner called and recommended a much better site, that was available, due to the fact that we were staying for 4 days. It's hard sometimes to judge a site by online photos and having Melanie calling and recommending the change meant a lot. Whether you're planning on spending a few days, or just passing through and need a great place to spend the night, you can't beat Wendy Oaks. The lake, the ducks, the convenient location, coupled with the quaintness of a smaller park, Melanie and her staff make this feel like back forty at an old friends place.

We stayed one night at Windy Oaks in the middle of May 2025. Melanie greeted us on her golf cart and made sure that everything was going well for our set up. Within minutes, we discovered we had electrical issues. She immediately made several calls to see if someone could come out and no one could that evening, but they could be out first thing in the morning, which was a Saturday. In the meantime, she hopped in her car and went an hours worth round-trip and found a new part for our hook ups. What an amazing person, personable, funny, and extremely friendly! The park was lovely with all the trees and quaint small lake. We will be back!!

VERY friendly place... Melanie runs the campgrounds and does a fantastic job. She even called me ahead of time to alert me of a road closure if I was coming in from the north (I wasn't, but it was unexpected and very appreciated). She had wifi in the park and even helped us set our TV so we could connect. OUTSTANDING... Haven't gotten that kind of service anywhere else. Nice spot on a small lake, I highly recommend it if you need a spot to stay. Thank you very much. GOOD TIMES

Highly recommend this campground!! Our truck broke down and Melanie was so helpful. She not only gave us recommendations for a mechanic (John Davis Auto Repair - who also turned out to be amazingly helpful), but she made sure our spot wasn’t booked for the next day so we didn’t have any pressure to leave if we couldn’t get it fixed by check out time. She also provided a list of places to eat in the area, which was helpful. The lake on the grounds is beautiful and there are boats to take out. Very well maintained. We came back and stayed again on our way back home. Couldn’t have had better luck finding this place at the last minute.

We stopped here for a week stay so we could work before continuing heading west. This winded up being a HUGE breath of fresh air! Look, we have been traveling full time for a year and a half. We have been to a LOT of campgrounds. So it says a lot when I say this....Melanie is the absolute best campground owner. If you look in the dictionary under hospitality her name should be there for reference. She took us to our site, brought us firewood free (just for staying a week), she printed off some kid activities for us to do with our young daughter, she let us know about a storm coming so we could put away outdoor stuff, she even tried to stop me from taking my own trash to the dumpster! Just a gem. The owner really is working hard to get the place looking nice. Everything is clean. It's on a lake with some paths around it to walk. Boats you can use and a stocked lake for fishing too. Great easy to pull thru sites and a few lake front back end spots too. It's a simple place and all we needed. There is road noise and trains. I didn't find it woke us up though. It's great for an overnight stay...but consider staying longer! We enjoyed our week! Suggestions for owner: The only down side is the unsightly permanent residents spots. I'm fine with them there and the owners were nice, but I personally think you would benefit by having a separate section (maybe in the back) just for the permanent residents. We have seen that before and honestly it's probably nicer for those residents not constantly having new rigs pull in and out next to them. A small playground or small fenced in dog park would be great. But keep doing what you are doing. You have an adorable campground and honestly your kindness makes this place special.

I stayed at Wendy Oaks Rv Resort, and this is one of the cleanest parks i have stayed in. the bathroom/ showers were clean and warm when you walk in and the laundry room was in great shape and very clean as well. the hospitality when checking in was very friendly and inviting. all campers in the park are clean and no messes around them. the utilities worked without any issues. highly recommend staying here as it is very safe and sound. I will be returning later this year for state fair.

Very beautiful and serene small RV Park. Melanie (Wendy's sister) was there to greet us and direct us to our spot even though we ended up being an hour late and after hours. We stopped on our way from Texas to Florida for a night. We had a beautiful pull-through spot #8, right on the lake. The website was extremely easy to use and book a reservation. Prices are very reasonable. We have a 44' fifth wheel and had no troubles arriving and departing.

Melanie is awesome, friendly, and makes sure her guests know the park. It's a smaller RV Park with a nice small lake. Bathrooms and showers are good, though they need to get a bit longer timer for the men's bathroom lights as I ended up taking the last part of my shower in the dark. Gave me a good laugh, though. Laundry room was clean and all the machines looked in good working order. I highly recommend this cute RV park, and will stay here again if I'm ever passing through.
