We stayed at West Bay Acadia over the summer and absolutely loved it! We enjoyed taking our kayaks out on the bay and exploring the beautiful Schoodic Peninsula — the quiet side of Acadia was such a treat. The campground is small, quiet, and immaculate, with large, level sites and a gorgeous view of the bay from our spot. The dark skies were incredible — we’ve never seen stars like that! The camp hosts were so kind and welcoming. They even gave us a bag of local information with great recommendations for food, drinks, and things to do in the area. We had such a wonderful stay and can’t wait to go back!

We spent 10 incredible days at this amazing resort in September. The staff were so kind and helpful and the location is 10/10. Beautiful views of the bay, steps to the beach, sites that overlook the water, incredible sunrises and some adorable new cabins. Isabel was so helpful in coordinating a cabin stay for our grandson and his bride and they had the most wonderful mini honeymoon. We visited Acadia, Bar Harbor and the Schoodic Peninsula plus multiple day trips to Bangor, Ellsworth, Eastport and Lubec. And it’s a dark sky location so the stars at night were incredible. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

My husband and I along with our 2 dogs stayed here for our 25th Anniversary and it couldn’t have been more perfect! If you are looking for a quiet and serene campground…this is your place! We were welcomed by Michelle and Sheila once we arrived at our site #13. They provided us with a gift bag of helpful maps and important information and they delivered wood for us. The site overlooked the bay and was very level and spacious with a nice table and fire pit. Our dogs visited the dog park multiple times a day and on our second day, we shared a growler with Michelle and Sheila at our site and had the best time getting to know them. They are the salt of the earth kind of people you come back to a campground for! I will miss watching the sunrise over the bay from the swing as well as the kind people we met along the way.

Gorgeous views! Very quiet campground. They have stairs down to the water, canoes, a swing overlooking the water and a dog park. Roads in and out were very well maintained. Lots were level with full hookup. Camp workers were very helpful and friendly. This was a very quiet and relaxing campground. They are adding cabins too and they looked gorgeous inside. About an hour to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.

Amazing campground. Feels a little like a national park with the wild and natural landscaping. Great views and beach area. Very quiet. It does not have a playground or any other “resort style” amenities, so may not be best for some young families or those looking for pools, laundry, and bath houses. But for those looking for a beautiful spot nearby Acadia with spacious sites, full hookups and phenomenal internet this is your place. We loved it and kind of want to keep it this areas best kept secret… but I’m sure the owners (who are very nice, and we’re so kind) would appreciate getting the word out! We will definitely be back.

One of the best campgrounds we have ever visited to date. The hosts are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The grounds were immaculate and the sites roomy. Fantastic WiFi and Cell Service. Schoodic Peninsula and Acadia NP are absolutely stunning but I can honestly say there were times we just wanted to stay back at the campground. We had a wonderful, quiet, and relaxing stay. We are already talking about our next visit. Thank you!

This is one of the best RV Camps we’ve stayed in! The owners (Rob& Peggy) and the 2 couples of camp helpers are the best, rated 10+!!! The camp is beautiful with a rustic but all the most up to date convenience. Rob put a lot of thought, heart and hard work into the design and construction of this camp! Location, staff, night views of the constellations and camaraderie of all the guests are so great! Besides the helpfulness. Rob the owner dropped everything he was doing to help me fix a problem I had with my RV. The welcome bag delivered by Peggy upon arrival was incredible. It included lists with color photos of places to see, things to do and places to eat and shop locally which they recommend based on their personal visits and patronage. They support local businesses by this effort. They also revisit to insure quality is maintained! If you want to stay in a very unique, beautiful spot on the coast of a great harbor that feels like a family compound, West Bay is your place! I’d stay for a month if we could! Also, for us, this side of Acadia was the best, centrally located to see and visit all that Bar Harbor and Acadia has to offer, without the crowds!

Wonderful place and even better hosts! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. It’s peaceful with a sense of “family” when it comes to Rob, Peggy and the other hosts. During our time we enjoyed the educational lobster dinner followed by some music, kayaked on the bay, wildlife watching, star gazing and my personal favorite…daily pickings from the garden. Highly recommend staying here!

Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay! We had a beautiful site looking out to the bay. Sites were spaced out well and level. Campground has so many little things that just make it feel special. They have a garden area, nice dog play area, swing looking out over the bay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Convenient to Acadia NP and Bar Harbor. Just a great all around experience.

We spent two amazing weeks at this quiet and serene campground. Their community garden, food events and secluded bay make this an amazing nature experience. Dog friendly too! We could see the stars in full display, kayaking and bald eagles with close proximity to Acadia National Park! We loved all the camp hosts and the owners Peggy and Rob. Special shout out to Jillian who volunteered to take us kayaking on her day off! Friends made and epic Maine experience ♥️

We spent from September 3rd through September 10th 2021 (last week) at West Bay and I have nothing but good to say. Rob and his wife Peggy are very hospitable and welcoming to their facility which I will add is the absolute BEST campground that we have ever stayed. This is a first class well thought out campground. I hope the same spot available for us next year. Rob, Peggy and Sarasota sister, thank you so much for the wonderful time and conversation. A lovely park with excellent amenities, including wi fi better than most peoples’ homes. Peaceful, yet near all that Acadia NP has to offer. Wonderful hosts who go out of their way to welcome and guide you as much or as little as you want. Landscaping still in progress, but already a beautiful place to stay. Thank you Ron and Peggy for a great visit!

Beautiful, peaceful campground in a great location overlooking a bay. The owners and camp host are very welcoming. We would highly recommend site 19 but almost all were nice. It is a new park so landscaping will mature over time. Not far from Acadia National Park.
