Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Water activities dominate the experience here, with exceptional opportunities for walleye and salmon fishing. The lady at the entrance was super friendly. She even gave us a map with the sites marked as to which ones are shady all day, partly shady and I'm full sun so we could choose what site we wanted based on availability. We didn't need shade because it was overcast and rainy the night we stayed. I suggest making reservations online as a faster process.

Excellent state park. Clean bathrooms and clean camp sites. The camp host came to our site and cleaned out the ashes in our fire ring. They also cleaned our picnic table. All without being asked. They also have a kitchen sink at the restroom for cleaning dishes. Which you don't see too often. Highly recommend this campground Five stars.

We had so much fun! It's a large campground so we weren't too close to those not in our group! We're already planning next year's trip!

This was our first camping experience within the Corona virus pandemic. We arrived and were greeted by a friendly ranger as we prepared to fill our water tanks. This was a very clean area and easy to find. Another ranger came by and suggested she help us change our spot to a shadier one since they were trimming trees by our original selection, so we ended up in 33E which was shady, clean and near restrooms. We avoided using the restrooms as per park request since our trailer is self-contained, though we would have felt comfortable using it. Highlight of our trip was renting kayaks and lazily enjoying the view of the beautiful Missouri River. Peace like a river. All the staff was helpful and sincerely welcoming. Our stay was during the week so we were naturally socially distanced with a lower campground census, but there is plenty of space between sites. There is no cell service at this time, but there is Wi-Fi available. A short walk up to the park bench near the entrance will give you a signal. Have a fun and safe stay!

Couldn't find anything to complain about. They weren't very busy when we were there (late August) so it was very peacefull. We were late getting there and thought we were to late to get some firewood but the host drove through about 9 and went and got us some. The only thing some might have problems with is that if you have ATT, you will have 0 signal. That was ok with us because we were looking to get off the grid for a bit. Very nice and relaxing stay! Will go again!
