This has to be one of the better, if not best, full hookup campground in the National Forrest that we've stayed at so far. The campground was clean, quiet and peaceful. The stream running through the middle of campground is great, loved seeing all the kids playing in the water instead of their nose in a screen or tablet. There are plenty of trees for shade and walking/hiking paths. We'll be back for sure. One area of concern/caution - Very low water pressure on Sunday mid-morning when everyone is trying to clean up and pack up. Plan accordingly for extra time or do it early.

Arrived after a long drive and lots of aches and pains but was met shortly after by Mary, who was very accommodating. All my questions were answered and I felt welcomed and at home right off the bat. The area is beautiful and spacious. Very clean as well. Definitely a worthwhile place to stay!!

Such a nice campground! We will definitely be back. It was so calm and peaceful and the running water in the background was so relaxing. Everyone was so friendly. The spots were a decent size. Campground was clean. Bathrooms were very clean.

A little piece of heaven! This campground quickly became my favorite in PA. The main feature is a peaceful creek that runs through the campground. It’s magical to good to sleep to the sound of rushing water. Ann is a wonderful host. Super friendly and very accommodating. LTE is bit spotty, but good enough for the kind of work I do. The National Forest borders the campground and there is an old road that you can right out of the campground to go for a nice long hike in the woods. My kids (4 and 7) loved the creek and playground (it was early May so the pool wasn’t open yet), but the cherry on top for all of us was the game room with some vintage arcade games… If you’re feeling nostalgic, bring plenty of quarters so you can have some fun :) We stayed here for a little over a week, and all in all I’d give it 10 out of 10! We’ll definitely camp here again next time we travel to this side of PA.

We stayed in the Hillside cabin for a couple of nights this past week. It was very cute and just the right size for us, a retired couple, but would have easily accomodated a small family or two couples. It was spotless when we went in. I really appreciated the fact that after a long drive, I didn't have to clean or wipe down anything!!! Plenty of hot water, a nice little TV with cable, and the internet access made it just perfect!! We loved it and the campground is beautiful. The campsites seemed to be spaced nicely and the fact that it is directly connected to the Allegheny National Forest with a trail head right there was a plus for us.

I've been here at this campground now for 3 months and I've read the reviews and I can tell you based on mine and my parents experience here This is a exceptionally great campground to stay at. We are living here in our camper full time until we find a home to purchase and Wayne and Ann are great people. Over the last 3 months they have done everything they can to accommodate us and have helped us out when we needed it. The bath house is clean and the camp sits are a nice level gravel pad with a picnic bench and fire pit. There is a very nice little stream running right through the middle of the campground and while sitting outside its very peaceful to listen to the water running by. They also have a very nice inground swimming pool. If you're planning on staying in the area I would highly recommend Whispering Winds.

Unprofessional disarray abounds. We booked two campsites via phone. I was there while the booking was done on speaker phone. We were charged for these sites on that call. We arrive on the weekend we reserved to find people at our sites. They had booked someone else into them. They adamantly denied they did not book anything for us. Even showing them the bank account charge from them they said it couldn't be. Further they were requesting bank routing numbers so their bank could look into it?? Who in their right mind would hand these over. The husband and wife running this place just doubled down over and over how they are infallible despite evidence of their mistake being shown to their faces. They are utterly incompetent. We drove multiple hours to the campground and they offered nothing aside from a "Couldn't have been our mistake". On top of this the campground is cramped with sites nearly on top of one another. The creek is dismal at best. Overall I'd recommend you strongly reconsider camping here and book one of the other wonderful park run sites in the area.

Made a reservation for a specific site # 2.5 months in advance. Everything was all set up. 2 weeks prior to my reservation I contact them because I just wanted to confirm. I was given the wrong site#. So I had to cancel because it was not the site# I called and reserved and was still charged the cancellation fee when it was their fault. I contacted them and they said they do not reserve specific site numbers but they gave me a reservation for specific site number

We absolutely love Whispering Winds! The staff and owners are extremely nice and very helpful! The campground is well cared for and very clean. It is a nice family friendly place to stay.

The nicest privately owned campsite that we’ve ever visited. We usually stay at state parks but the lure of the children’s fishing derby brought us here. Beautiful campground, large sites, clean amenities, nice pool and camp store. You can tell that the owners care. We had a great time and will be back!!
