Hancock Campground – Site #17 (7/2–7/6) We had a great time camping at Hancock Campground over the July 4th weekend. We stayed at Site #17, which was quiet, spacious, and had just the right amount of privacy. It was also close to the river—perfect for relaxing and cooling off. Nicole, the camp host, was amazing. She was super friendly, helpful, and made sure everything around the campground was clean and running smoothly. You could tell she really cared about everyone having a good experience. During our stay, we noticed another group nearby who didn’t follow the campground rules and were being very loud with high volume speakers. Nicole stepped in and handled it respectfully and professionally. We later saw that they left a 1-star review, which felt unfair—she was just doing her job and looking out for all of us trying to enjoy a peaceful stay. We’re really glad we chose this campground and would definitely come back. Big thanks to Nicole for helping make it a great experience!

Great campsite and excellent host. Nicole was exceptionally knowledgeable and attentive to our needs while my family and I were there. When one of our friends mistakenly overpaid his stay, she was able to refund him within the hour. Thank you Nicole for being a great host. We definitely will be coming back for our next camping trip.

Hancock is my fav go to get away campground! The site manager Nicole is absolutely wonderful very attentive to the campground and campers needs! There was an out of the normal loud group of people that wrote a bad review I want to assure everyone reviewing reviews that that bad review left that specific group of campers had absolutely no respect for other around blaring music at 7 am running a generator 24/7 till told to turn off. It's not about "quite hours" it's having a level of respect for hiker campers enjoy themselves too.,they played music till 10 and started it back up at 7 playing for home at 11 at night all everyone can hear is bean bag slapping a board. The only complaint was that group of campers having no respect for other around. Nicole did not wave her hands in anyone face she was speaking with her hands to turn the volume down and they inch the volume down testing her because they did not know she was the site manager to clear that up I had amazing time with my family made a lot of friends I feel like will be life long friendships I can't wait to plan my next adventure here! The bathrooms are so clean and always stocked with TP! Nicole is just amazing and cares so much all around I can't say enough great things!

One of a small number of campgrounds open year-round in New Hampshire, & we are so grateful for it! We've tent-camped here in the dead of winter, which was an adventure. 😆 And we stayed here in Spring, also. Pit toilets are closed in the "off season" but they have port-o-potties. Bear-proof dumpsters. Met the host our last trip; they are the nicest, friendliest campground host at any state (& national) park campground we've ever stayed at, & that includes others in NH, plus PA, VA, & NC. ✌️ Sites of various sizes nicely spaced. Love it!

Extremely accessible location. Just a few miles beyond Lincoln and Loon mountain, and immediately after you enter the White Mountains National Forest. The campsites on the south side of the highway, especially those adjacent to the Pemigewasset River, are great. It's definitely not a family campground or State Park, the bathrooms are basic, no electricity, but it's a great launching point for hiking or exploring the river. The person staffing the campgrounds was friendly and it was nice having firewood that was dry and readily available, cash only.

Campground is located only 10 minutes from several shops and stores in the nearby area. Several of the campsites are located within view of the roaring river. Relaxing noise to hear during our stay. We have plans on returning another time, as this visit was awesome. Warning that weather is not predicable, so we were rained out. No interaction with any services as we did not see or speak with anyone from the campground. Beware, this is bear-country, so plan ahead. This 'city-dweller' is not used to seeing widlife larger than a squirrel.

This was the best way I could celebrate the New Year. I might have been there only one night but it was a nice, quiet night. My stay was on January 1st-to 2nd and the site was near the river. There might not be a better way to sleep on a cold, crisp night than to hear a river nearby. After a very busy and hectic couple weeks, it was wonderful to relax, cook on a fire, and enjoy the woods. It was revitalizing. I enjoyed this area so much that I am going back up tomorrow!

We've camped here twice now in mid/late November, and we love it! The campground is quiet and clean, dog friendly, and one of the very few that's open year round. The Pemi runs right by and it's easy to find a beautiful spot to sit by the river. Campground host Byron is super nice and a great resource. Planning on coming back in the winter as well! Thank you Byron!
