Camp Hale Memorial Campground is a beautiful and historically rich site nestled in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. Surrounded by stunning mountain views and lush forests, it's a perfect spot for camping, hiking, and exploring the area's WWII history. The well-maintained campsites and easy access to outdoor adventures make it a fantastic base for experiencing Colorado's natural beauty and heritage.

Loved this campground. There are no hookups, no water in the campground and no dump station so if you need all those things, no luck. The surroundings are gorgeous. Great hiking trails and there are plaques around the camp that explains the history of the camp during WW2. There is no cell service at all. Leadville is a short 15-20 minute drive and there is service there.

If the land could talk... the history that laid it's roots on the surrounding mountains and valleys would speak. I always learn something new when I visit. It's such a beautiful place. A hidden gem in the Rocky mountains. With views of the mountain of the Holy Cross.

We camped in our tent for 4 nights at site 20 with no hookups. Nice shade in afternoon and evening with plenty of privacy. We enjoyed our stay here and hope to come back. The camp host is very kind and helpful. You are close (within one mile) to Colorado Trail and 11 mile hike to Kokomo Pass. Pet friendly.

Gorgeous beautiful wildflowers everywhere the last week of July is when we were there. Amazing views of the surrounding mountains a labyrinth to walk if you go down the little path. Great place to bike. No cell reception and a great escape.

It's more about the place than the campground, but the campground is pretty good, no water or electric but they're out in a quiet place with a river, not many people too

We live this campground and return every year! The river was pretty low this year but still a wonderful place to stay!
