We camped on site 64 end of June 2026. Had a flat shortly after arrival. Our camp host on the south end came to our rescue! He took the tire off, plugged it and put it back on! WAY above and beyond the call of duty! What a host and great human being. We offered him payment and he flatly refused. There aren’t many around like that anymore. Gave me hope in our fellow Americans! Thank you!

This is our second time camping at Chapman and enjoyed site 64 right by the river. This campsite is quite spacious and easily fit a pop-up and a large tent. The camp hosts, Bruce and Kathy, are amazing!! The toilets couldn’t have been cleaner or smelled fresher. Also, we noticed a flat tire on our truck and Bruce came to the rescue! He helped get the tire off and even took it back to his campsite to dig out the nail and plug the hole!! They went above and beyond… can’t say enough good things about them. Thank you, Bruce and Kathy! We also had to make a quick trip to the Meredith General Store for more ice and it is a very cute and well-stocked shop for any camping needs. The only complaint we had was up at the reservoir… people left their paddle boards and hammocks EVERYWHERE, even when there was no camping adjacent to the water. We were there to fish and had to navigate around all of the equipment lying around which was very aggravating.

Scenic campground by Frying Pan River, with a stunning drive from Basalt past the Ruedi Reservoir on good roads. Most sites are private, near the river, and feature flat gravel pads, though a large rock separates the camper and picnic table/fire pit area. Bathrooms are clean, and potable water is available. Our starlink worked great! No interaction with the host, as we weren’t sure of the process. Caught brook trout and enjoyed long dog walks around the loops. First trip in our new Leisure Travel Van was fantastic. Highly recommend.

The BEST campground we've visited in Colorado. It is huge, we had to drive to some friends campsites. You can hear & often see the Frying Pan River. Some sites are closer to the river than others. Many of us slept longer with the soothing sounds of the water. Kayaking, paddle boarding, walking, hiking, driving this area was a treat for us. The campfires were a great end of a fab day. Traffic on I70 added an hour to our drive from Denver. But, it was worth it! 5 Stars to the Camp hosts, husband/wife team, their daughter/friend hosts were awesome, friendly & informative. My only caveat, Recreation.gov did not show a photo of site #61, it turned out 2 floors, 1 for picnic table & campfire, the lower portion for our camper. Not the best. We scouted, preferring flatter sites next time.
