What a GREAT campground! The facilities are clean. Water stations are all over, and the water is potable. Electric hookups worked well on 30A for our 50A Class A with a conversion down to 30A. The comfort station is clean with plenty of warm water for a good shower. There is a little playground for smaller kids. The beaches had, at most, one other family present. Lots of minnows and tadpoles for the kids. The boardwalk hike to see Rainbow Falls is gorgeous! We saw a few ladyslipper orchids. There are 147 steps down to the bridge and then, of course, back up. But you can see the start of the falls within just a few steps. The boat launch accommodated our pontoon quite nicely. There is a small dock for a quick tie-up and accessible access to the boat for those using assistive walking devices. The campsite was clean. It was blackfly (gnat) season in early July with mosquitoes as well. Plan on bringing bug repellent, citronella candles, thermacels, and fire starting materials for a campfire. Wood and kindling may be purchased from the park so that you're using local wood. Ice is also available for purchase. Good trash facilities. Dumping station and fill station is well maintained and is outside the park gate for public access. Park maintenance cleans out the campfire pits, but make sure you only burn wood. The campground is so quiet that 6 of us slept in until after 10:30 in the morning after an 11pm bedtime! For a birder...not bad! The park is a breeding site for several warblers that winter in South America: Chipping Sparrow, Swainson's Thrush, Ovenbird, Nashville Warbler, Black-Throated Green Warbler, Bay-breasted Warbler, Blackburnian Warbler, & Red-eyed Vireo. For fishing: We caught some largemouth bass and a brown trout. We look forward to going back next year for some more hikes, fishing, snorkeling, and late night s'mores by the campfire.

Spacious sites, beautiful rainbow falls, clean showers with plentiful hot water and friendly rangers make for a fun 2 night stay here. The only con are the swarms of mosquitoes who try to exsanguinate you. Do NOT come here without some serious DEET.

Quiet little park with easy hiking trails. The hike to the Falls is a boardwalk trail with many steps. Beyond the bridge the trail continues to a lookout of Whitesand Lake and Lake Superior. Well worth the extra distance. Comfort station has showers that are clean, warm and great water pressure.
