Our family visits Rockport frequently and we are always looking for an RV park the first our needs. We stayed at the Wilderness Oaks RV park this last weekend. The spots are all cement pads, which makes setting up go a lot smoother. The bathroom, showers, pool and other amenities were good. I did however make an error by trying to rinse the sand out of the bed of my truck. The camp rule say no washing vehicles or RV’s. There is no mention of the stage 3 water restrictions. The issue that I have is that one of the individuals reading the meters started yelling at me. While it may have been appropriate get my attention after I turned off the water, apologized this person continued to yell at me. He wanted to know why I didn’t know about the stage 3 water restrictions and the washing of vehicles and that I was on violation of the camp rules if I would have read them. I did read the rules, and due to my ignorance I thought a quick rise of the bed of my truck was not washing, but in hindsight I see the mistake. However this individual kept yelling at me talking about how I was going to get every spot in resort a violation. I never once argued with the individual, I kept apologizing and admitting I was wrong he still wanted to yell at me. You don’t need to yell at me, just have a conversation with me, especially after I was being cooperative with him. If that’s the way guest are treated at Wilderness Oaks, well it’s not the place for me and my family. Oh by the way, I made a call to the city offices, the fine would only be handed out to the person using the water, NOT every spot in the resort. Besides the yelling and incorrect information it obvious that we were not welcome. Additionally the city did tell me that vehicles can be washed using a 5 gallon bucket, just no continuous water running. This information is also available on their website under stage 3 restrictions. Additionally adding information about the water restrictions would also be of value to those out of town. Shame on me for not doing my research ahead of time. Integrity and respect is important to me as a customer, Wilderness Oaks has neither. I will ensure yo not book there again and that DLL my friends and family know to stay away from the place. I am sorry for my ignorance, if Wilderness Oaks feels they need to fine me, they can, they know where to find me

One of my favorite RV parks. Great staff, fantastic salt water pool, wonderful rally room with a full kitchen. The 7th rally I have hosted at this park for the Texas Ramblin' Roses chapter of RVing Women. Always a crowd favorite.
