Wilson's Riverfront RV Park

The sites are concrete, wide and level. A big plus in my opinion. I like that it is family owned. The campground is sandwiched between two highways and has a public walking/biking trail through the middle of it. Not a quiet camping experience. However there are beautiful views of the river and the easy access to walking trails. Do not trust your GPS to get here.

Didn't stay here, but a friend who came to visit parked their rig here. Seemed very conveniently located, although a bit confusing getting there the first time.

There isn't anyone on site to check you in. Your site number is in your confirmation email. The entrance to this RV park is quite difficult. If you have a larger rig I recommend doing your research on entering the park from 240. They do however pick up your garbage and the sites are all flat concrete slabs and the view of the river is nice.

We chose this little park for our 4 night stay in Asheville. This place was hit hard by the storm. They had just reopened when we arrived in September 2025. The guy on site was still setting up the sites when we got here. He ran right out and got us our picnic table and a new fire ring with a built in grill top on it, which was a nice surprise in case we wanted to use it. This site has all new electrical on every spot. Full hook up sewer , water and electric. I read reviews about water pressure but we have no issues, and my wife definitely needs high pressure to wash that super thick hair. (Happy wife, happy life). there is a public bike/ walking trail that runs through the property. Not a deal breaker and we didn't have any issues. We are right off the interstate, I feel like the background sounds are actually helpful to add a little privacy as not to disturb the neighbors. We can still hear the frogs on the river and its beautiful. We chose this spot because of the location being central to town as our goal was to explore the region.

I enjoyed 4 nights at the Wilson's Riverfront RV Park. All the other reviews are correct. Yes, the turn is to sharp for a RV. Yes, you will have runners, bikers, and walkers going through the middle of the campground. Yes, the spots are close together. Yes, you will be next to an interstate. With that being said, I did enjoy staying at the campground. I wasn't hopeful about fishing after seeing the 7 ft. drop to the water and all the trees. Tried anyways to fish and had one good day. Caught small mouth, catfish and bluegills. Just expect your line to get stuck a lot on rocks.

We stayed for three nights. The spaces are all back in, it’s very cramped & hard to find.. gps brings you way down the road. I couldn’t get anyone on the phone days before or day of to help figure out where they were located or to help with anything for that matter. It’s literally NEXT to the interstate so it’s quite noisy day & night. There is a bike/park path that runs from a park down the street right through the RV park so there are people and animals just walking, jogging and riding through nonstop all day long! It IS close to town and everything you want to go see, and that’s its ONLY saving grace! The sewage is so gross we couldn’t leave the black water open without strong orders & bugs invading our camper! I did finally reach someone through email for a question about our reservation but it was not very helpful. It wasn’t the worst place but far from the best! Definitely overpriced for what it is. I had read some other reviews saying how disgusting the bathrooms were so I didn’t bother exploring those areas.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our small camper. Some things we liked about this campground: the proximity to Asheville, the concrete pads underneath the campers, the river view, the trash pick-up each morning, the easy online check-in process, the access to the bike path, the small-ish size, and the price. Honestly, the noise level was not bad. It's next to a highway, so I'm not sure what kind of silent evening miracle people were expecting in previous reviews? We slept through it with no problem! However, we were really disappointed with the bathroom situation. The first day, someone was actively cleaning it. But, judging by the same pieces of trash/hair clumps/bugs being in the same place on my 3rd day there, it's safe to say it isn't cleaned very often. The toilets were new and the showers were hot, but the bathrooms smelled badly for most of the time. The only other issue is that a lot of transient folks were making their way into the campground; one guy even asking if he could tie his tarps to our vehicle. He spent the rest of the evening talking to himself and fidgeting with his site about a foot from our camper windows. It's not necessarily Wilson's fault, as homelessness is an issue in this area, but maybe some security measures can be put into effect? Overall, I would probably recommend this campground, as it is a decent value for the money.

Very small and right on the interstate so very noisy all night. Also there is a bike path running through the middle of the campground in front of the campers. It is very busy and dangerous especially for small children. The bikers are going so fast they don’t pay attention to people in the way.

We stayed here for a few nights during the Thanksgiving holiday. The campsite is conveniently located for those who are interested in exploring Asheville. Yes, it is near the highway, which means there is noise - you are in the city. It was not a surprise to us that there would be some noise. The campground itself is clean, quiet and has cement pads which was a huge plus. We also enjoyed the easy and convenient access to the walking trail as we had our two dogs with us. We would definitely stay again!

Full hookups no frills camping. Good for a few days not much to do

Wonderful place to stay! Owners are super helpful and responsive. We actually got snowed it and they let us check out later to make sure conditions were safe. Also kept us up to date as to what the highway conditions were. The property itself is smaller, but is right next to the river and was extremely accessible to everything. Everyone was very nice at the park! We look forward to another stay someday!

Plenty of space and full hook ups. Host was polite and friendly and they let us have a service tech come for a small repair while we were there. Minus 2 stars because of the insane road noise as semis jake-brake down the mountain directly above you. Also the bathrooms were closed and a bit sketchy. If you’re looking for a quick place to stop it’s worth it. If you want peace and quiet, go elsewhere.
