Continuing my review on the thieves, it was the owners. $25.00 pet deposit, only overnight stay, our dog had no excrement anywhere. We left at 0730, office not open til 9 a.m. After we were on the road, I called to ask if they could mail my deposit. No! I asked why they couldn't just drop the money into the mail, no way, credit my credit card, no way. They could give us credit for our next stay. Seriously?? We live 1000 miles away. Very poor customer relations. Plus every garbage can, including one at the front door was overflowing. Thankfully all the Canadians I know are honest people.

This was the first time I have been to Windsor campground since it was KOA back in the 70s. It really has so much potential to be something great, and it is sad really, the lack of investment and maintenance put into the property. I used to work at Jellystone in Amherstburg back in the day as a recreation director. A little bit of maintenance and love goes a long way in keeping a place viable, and welcoming. The buildings need definite TLC and the landscaped pond is just beautiful. It was quiet and the people were friendly and helpful; reasonable. I just think with a little bit more effort it would be a contender. I don't like to see anything not live up to its' potential really. Do some work on the buildings, spruce it up; hire someone to clean the washrooms etc, and do some programming for the kids. What an absolutely fantastic asset it could be to the Windsor area especially. Cheers!

Campground was easy to get to. Lots of permanent or semi permanent residents who could clean up there campsites a little. Some people feed the resident flock of geese which then drop deposits everywhere. Staff in the front office were great. Roads are full of deep potholes and ruts - So many ruts that they would hinder emergency vehicles if needed when seconds and minutes count. We did not use any facilities.

My first impression of this property was not good. Turning off the main concession onto the single lane bridge was taxing. Should have realized what was ahead of me by the massive pot holes at the entrance of the bridge. The next couple hundred yards up to the main office was brutal. The pot holes on the road prevented you from going over 10km/hr but caused damage to the suspension of my truck and trailer (who do I send the bill to?) and not to mention my back. If they want people to stay under 10km/hr, this is not the way to do it. Upon arrival to my assigned site, it was discovered that the site was double booked. No big deal, I just moved to the spot where the occupants of my site were supposed to be. The site I was on (#4) was quite narrow. The neighbours on site 5 couldn’t even have a camp fire because of the proximity of my trailer and I could not have a fire because of the proximity of my neighbour on the other side. On the Saturday night, we returned to the campsite at about 10pm and someone at the entrance jumped in-front of my truck demanded to know who I was. He did not explain that he was park staff (I’m guessing he was) and was not wearing any high vis clothing. He was actually wearing camouflage which is quite dangerous in my opinion. The proximity to Hwy 401 is convenient but the traffic is loud. As for the main bathroom - only 2 of the 4 sinks worked and only 1 of 2 urinals was in service. Didn’t even look in the showers. A good daily cleaning of each washroom of the spider webs is suggested. Honestly - we were only there to sleep and did not partake in any of the festivities. For those who like to party - this is a great spot. Seems like lots going on all the time.

Needed a place to camp close to Windsor. This is as close as you're getting. The staff were so nice and welcoming. Very helpful. Campsite was clean. Park security (cobra chickens) were very thorough on their patrols and didn't bother any guests. Other campers who stay for longer periods of time were super friendly. If you follow the rules, which are just common sense, your stay here will be amazing! Firewood available at office. Food truck on site (and affordable and tasty) Pool open, which was very relieving in the heat. And the price was great for a tent lot with both water and electricity. (I really needed my coffee in the morning)

We love coming here to camp. We have a small trailer and used it 3 or 4 times. I gathered up 2 of my girl friends and we had a ladies weekend away. It was a super time and we plan on doing it again. We have also stayed in the cabins twice. It was great. We sat outside by the fire and watched ducks on the water and people wandering around. The cabins are very reasonably priced so it was fun to do. We invited another couple from London and they told us they would like to do it again. So we are looking forward to spring and camping season. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work.

**No pets allowed on cabin property.** Staff are very kind, polite and welcoming. Outside of cabins are clean. Inside are dirty. Cob webs in all small spaces. Under beds seem to not have been cleaned in years. Tip to owners: write cabin pet policy in bold on all website pages. Make sure staff are on the same page for this. Staff should explain this policy to every phone inquiry about cabins.

Worst camping trip ever... been going there for almost my whole childhood as well as bringing my kids there... the new owners are absolutely clueless on how to run a campground... the store never has anything including worms the staff there are beyond rude... I got banned there becuz they called me filthy and I argued back... a lot of the regulars who have been going there for 25+ years have said they are not coming back next year... they also tax u on wood... such bs worst campground ever...

This "campground" is definitely more of an RV Park.... the park itself is small, there is NO privacy in the tenting sites, and the sites themselves are small too. When you drive into the grounds you are met with an old unreadable sign and a lot of scrap metal in the front yard. There are no walking trails or anything nature-like (there are barley any trees too) and the only thing you can do in the pond is fish. The traffic from the 401 makes for a noisy stay and is a constant reminder that you are in the city. The prices are reasonable and the staff is great! I met a girl named Emily in the office and she was very friendly, welcoming, and professional, which was very nice :) The store front is reasonably stocked with snack items, camping accessories and ice which is a bonus! The pool is small and only holds 10 people, so there was not much for the kids to do. They did have activities which made the day go by quicker. They also have 2 playgrounds which is nice. But nothing else for the kids to play with. No balls or games for rent. Overall, not a great location of you are looking to go away in the woods, it is more of a place to go if you just want to be out of the house.
