First let me say that I rarely give reviews and unless I have forgotten something over my almost 80 years, I have never given a bad review. My husband and I both have been in business ourselves and we realize that it is next to impossible to please everyone however if there was a -10 I would give it to these people. We checked into this place on Saturday Sept 20, 2025. They required cash in advance, which thru up major red flags for us, but we went ahead and paid the $74. (no discounts) up front. MAJOR MISTAKE! We were taken to our site and the guy hurriedly left. Before we even got set up, immediately 3 different campers came up to us and started telling us how bad the place was. There was barely a trickle of water but worst of all there was NO electricity. These fine upstanding business owners took our money knowing full well that there was no power or water pressure. We went back to the office and ask for refund. Before my husband could finish his sentence the man started saying NO REFUNDS NO REFUNDS! My husband said but there is no power and the owner just continued repeating NO REFUNDS, sign says no refunds. Well sir, remember this, whether you believe in God or not, when you stand before him, and you will, don’t be shocked when he says “No more second chances and no refunds. I feel very sorry for you and your wife.

I'm going to start off by saying the property is absolutely gorgeous. If you like getting nickel and dimed for everything then this is the place for you. The check-in process was very awkward. We had a reservation and was told it would be $60 per night. We arrived with three kids ages 14 and up and was told it would be $10 extra for each of them per night. Even though we weren't aware of this up charge, we told the guy that on the sign on their own front door it said $5 extra per over 2 people per night. He didn't seem to care and still went with the $10 because he said that's what the owners said it would be. Not having much choice, we just went ahead with it. I jokingly asked that since we had two tents would there be an extra charge? He looked at me with a straight face and said that there is a $10 charge per extra structure. If you want electricity, there is another charge, if you want water...extra charge, if you want to have a campfire there is another charge because they need $5 for their burn permit. There is no table at your campsite either. Anything at all extra that is customary at most campsites besides a few square feet of space is going to be an extra charge. If you want to fish, extra charge ride on the water slide? Extra charge. A lot of reviews mention the owners and employees driving around monitoring the premises non-stop, this is definitely true. We saw the owners driving around in a golf cart keeping an eye on every single thing. That's not so bad, I get it... What was really annoying was when the guy was driving around at 3:00 a.m. on a four-wheeler monitoring things. You have a campground full of people in tents sleeping and you decide to drive around on a four-wheeler instead of the silent golf cart that they were using during the day when everyone was awake... brilliant. Definitely won't be staying here again under the current management.

Woke up this morning and my higher power who I choose to call God lead me to Windy Hollow Campground to swim. Good people but they do not allow motorcycles to park at the pavilion where you swim. I was going to have my picnic I brought at the pavilion and swim. Normally I wouldn't mind walking but with the foot injury I have Im not supposed to walk that far, they wanted me to park at the gate😔 O and the reason wasn't a safety concern I was just told my motorcycle was to loud to pull to the pavilion and park?? They have always let me pull up to the pavilion but not this time. They mite be good people but I wouldn't recommend going to friends and family any longer. Also the last time I went in a truck and wanted to look at the camping spots to rent a spot I was told there were spots available but I needed to come back in 3 hours to look around so I could stay out of other people's way??? Also I was going swimming and I leave my wallet at my bike so I wouldn't have had it in view and I don't trust that

We were staying at a nearby campground and decided to visit Windy Hollow for the day, to swim at the beach. We paid $10 a person for nasty water, no slide and a bathroom that had curtains for doors and overtaken by hornet and wasp nests. The couple that run that place were extremely rude as well. Do not recommend. Do not waste your money.

This is a beautiful place! We've stayed here twice & had a great experience. The couple that owns it are great, you can tell they take great pride in keeping the place so nice! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

As travel nurses its hard to find a place that accommodates our hours and feels safe. Windy hollow and the owner, John did just that! John found a way to fit us in on short notice over a holiday weekend. He showed us our site and even helped us level out after the long day of driving. The entire property is kept immaculate as well as all of the ponds to fish. The long term rate was very affordable. Will definitely stop there again whenever we are in the area!

Absolutely enjoyed the campground. It was only our second time camping with our new camper and the owners were very helpful when signing in and getting set up. He escorted us to our site and even said we could park our vehicle in the next site if we would like to. He explained where the ponds were located and was very friendly to our kids. The campground was very clean and the staff were always picking up unused sites and keeping any limbs in the fire pit for future uses. They made us feel very welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back again when swimming season starts to try out the swimming lake!

The owners and staff at Windy Hollow campground goes above and beyond to serve their customers. You could not meet nicer staff anywhere. No matter what time day or night they are there to help you with whatever you need. The campground is a beautiful facility and well maintained. This is a great place to stay and your family will have a great time. The service is definitely a 5 star review for me. Thank you John and staff for a wonderful experience.
