Winnipeg Beach Park

Overview

Winnipeg Beach Provincial Park captures a nostalgic era of lakeside leisure on the shores of Lake Winnipeg. Once a legendary resort destination known as the "Coney Island of the North," it now offers a modern, high-quality camping experience while retaining its historic charm. It is a place where travelers can trade the hum of the highway for the sound of gentle waves and rustling poplar trees. The park serves as an accessible gateway to one of Manitoba's most beloved summer playgrounds, blending natural beauty with convenient community access.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the town of Winnipeg Beach, MB, this park sits along the southwestern shore of Lake Winnipeg. The landscape is defined by vast sandy stretches and a vibrant shoreline that stretches for kilometers. Visitors find themselves surrounded by a mix of manicured green spaces and the expansive, ocean-like horizon of the lake. The proximity to the town’s iconic historic boardwalk provides an immediate connection to local culture, artisan shops, and casual dining, making it easy to transition from the campsite to the heart of the community.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground is designed with modern RVers in mind, offering 120 full-service campsites that include power, water, and sewer connections. For those traveling in larger rigs, the sites are generally spacious and well-maintained. On-site facilities include modern washrooms, coin-operated showers, and laundry services to ensure a comfortable stay for those on longer journeys. Families often enjoy the playground areas and well-kept picnic spots, while the accessible design of the park makes it welcoming for travelers of all mobility levels seeking a hassle-free lakeside retreat.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the immediate park boundaries, the area is rich with activities focused on the water and regional history. Guests can spend days lounging on the sandy swimming beaches or exploring the local marina. A short drive north leads to the town of Gimli, famous for its Icelandic heritage and the annual Icelandic Festival. Nature enthusiasts should not miss the nearby Netley-Libau Marsh, a premier spot for bird watching and observing local wildlife in one of the largest freshwater coastal wetlands in the province.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for family vacationers seeking a classic beach holiday with the comforts of home. Because of the full-service hookups and level pads, it is a preferred destination for long-term summer RVers who want to settle in for more than just a weekend. If you enjoy a social atmosphere where you can easily walk to an ice cream shop or a fishing pier, this park offers the perfect balance of a resort-style environment and a scenic provincial park setting.

This is the best place for people with dogs!! The dog beach which is technically not off leash still is for well behaved dogs. Mine love it here and is their favorite place. It is busy yes, but worth it. You can park elsewhere and walk into park, but I bought a season pass as we will go back often.

Really neat place to stop and take in the views. Parking available outside closed gate, easy little walk to the shore. Bathrooms closed yet from winter. Will be back!

This is a beautiful campground that's only a few minute walk to the water or the amenities of downtown Winnipeg Beach. The sites are a fair size, most (if not all) are full service, and they are easy to access with either a trailer or motorhome with either pull-through or well-designed back-in sites. You also have your choice of open or private sites too. There's a regular beach and a dog beach, which makes this a dog owners paradise. The staff are friendly and do a great job of maintaining the campground.

Nice grassy and treed campground. It had many services nearby, including a laundromat which we needed. It had a large rocky beach and a big swimming area. The water was comfortable to swim in. We spent three nights here with full hookups. Great family campground with a playground, and it is pet-friendly.
