The park was really nice. The camp grounds were clean. The bath house was a bit run down so I did not use them. The staff were very nice and suggested great things to see in Salem. Being right next to the water was beautiful. The hook ups for the camper were good but there is no sewage. You have to go next door to a waste treatment plant to dump the waste. I didn't see any vending machines or other amenities. There was a place to launch your boat if you have one.

In my opinion, this is the best way to stay in Salem. A tent site is 38 a night. If you book far enough in advance you can stay close enough to the beach you will hear the waves while you sleep. As afar as the physical grounds, its okay, nothing special, its the location that makes it next level. The island is little and easy to.get around. If you have bikes, this is a perfect adventure for anyone wanting to be close enough to all the Salem action in October without the price tag. We walked everywhere. Its totally reasonbly walkable if you are a person who enjoys walking. There are ubers as well and for the most part ubers are cheaper than the parking in the center of town. You could always uber into the center and walk around there and uber back. It was $12 one way when I did it. Parking was 50. There is some sort of power station that does make some noise and planes regularly go overhead. As you walk around the little island you will hear these. It did not bother my ability to sleep. I will add video and photos to this review later today.

Camp ground is nice, great price and proximity to Salem . If you are camping the raccoons are huge and they will get into your stuff! Do not leave any food out . Also if you are tent camping anywhere near the gate . Be prepared to not get much sleep. The gate is constantly opening and closing throughout the night. People drive in at all hours and have music blasting. If it’s not the gate, it’s the raccoons getting into garbage, or the planes fling in / out of Logan. Suggest bringing ear plugs.

Setting up reservations for a place we've never been has never been so easy! The site was a bit small yet cozy in its own way. You're only a few minutes from the tourist area of Salem. The beach and views were over the top and beautiful. The bath house could use some upgrades, but it was clean. Staff was so very kind and friendly.

We love Winter Island and the available amenities! The area is a beautiful place to walk around (roughly a half mile loop) and the function hall is a wonderful place to host events and it can easily accommodate ~50 people. It was also available for a reasonable price, plus it's great knowing the money just goes back to the park to keep it all running!

Firstly, you will definitely see the raccoons, as people have said here many times. They aren't scared of humans at all, and will try to chill near you at night, especially if you are making / eating anything. One thing we were unprepared for was seeing rats, and big rats in the forest behind our site of 37. When I mentioned it to the man at the front gate, he said that the raccoons take care of the rats, so I guess that is good. We didn't have any problems with them, just both the raccoons and rats scratching on the tent and running around it at night. I would make sure to always have your tent close completely. All in all, it's a well priced campground with decent bathrooms, free wifi and lovely scenery. Two more things. They have raised fire pits, and firewood, you are able to rent from the office. I don't know for how much. Unfortunately due to the wildfires when we were in Salem, the campground were not able to rent them out. And secondly, some older comments talk about being able to hop on the trolley when it drives though to get into town. That is not something you are able to do anymore. The trolley is now a one hour tour, that starts in the main part of the town, not a hop on / hop off.

Came here on a recommendation for an inexpensive overnight camping trip... really glad we did! What a beautifully maintained, picturesque campground. Came in late October to enjoy Haunted Happenings - the park is so close to all the attractions. We stayed on site 36 which was absolutely perfect - close to bath/shower rooms and a porta potty, very close to beach but not too close, close to the playground and right near the entrance for easy access (we even used ride share services easily here) Can definitely echo what others have said: the raccoon situation is well, a situation! We were, luckily, more pestered than anything else and not even really that. They're very cute, albeit persistent and absolutely not afraid of humans. They scratched at our tent throughout the night. It was very comical to us! The site was clean, spacious (we had a site where we could park our car) and they offered inexpensive camping essentials. The staff was really nice and helpful and the overall experience was just awesome. We are already planning our trip for next summer! Highly recommend campground for clean, sizable, safe and fun tent camping!

This was an awesome campground we would definitely come again! It was our first trip with our RV and we admittedly poorly planned visiting Salem— not booking way in advance in October. We also mistakenly thought we could find a place to park for the night— also not possible. We called Winter Island Park and the office was so accommodating and helped us by offering a space the same day, not price gouging or anything like that and openly offering access to their whole park! What a refreshing experience! Thank you so much to the staff at Winter Island for the hospitality and willingness to help introduce this new RVer to a fantastic time, experience, and city!

Lovely spot! Very peaceful and relaxing place. Gates get locked in the evening, so it felt very safe. Access to "Waikiki Beach" nearby. Staff were super nice and helpful. Lots of picnic tables available for use. Great for families. Taking off a star for one sink in the women's bathroom not working, and only one mirror available (above the non-working sink). Had to wait in line to use the sink/mirror on occasion. Other than that, our stay was quite pleasant!

Pretty little park. Fun to explore. Bathhouses are teeny tiny and there's someone sitting in there all the time. No dump station on site. No fires. Fun for a short stay.

A beautiful, almost 360 degree view of the water with lighthouses, boats, birds. A short walk up the hill brings you right up to Pickering Light. Nice area to walk around looking at historical features. Check out the campground store/office. The ladies there are wicked nice, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!

It was absolutely gorgeous! The function hall doesn't have AC so it can get a bit stuffy, but the ocean breeze and beautiful scenery is totally worth it! The staff are really nice and helped set up for my sister's wedding. If you're ever in the area you definitely have to check it out as it's truly beautiful!

Beautiful scenery; my family and I were lucky to visit during a sunny day.
