Wolfe's Neck Oceanfront Camping

Overview

Wolfe's Neck Oceanfront Camping offers a unique blend of coastal beauty and agricultural heritage on a 626-acre non-profit farm. Situated along the shores of Casco Bay, this destination provides a rustic escape from the typical commercial resort experience. Visitors can enjoy the serene atmosphere of a working farm while waking up to the sound of the ocean, making it a truly distinctive and memorable stop for those exploring the rugged Maine coast. It is a place where sustainable agriculture meets classic New England recreation.

Location & Surroundings

The park is nestled in the quiet outskirts of Freeport, overlooking the picturesque and rocky coastline of Casco Bay. Its unique position provides sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and easy access to salt marshes, open pastures, and mature forests. The surrounding landscape is entirely dominated by the Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture & the Environment, ensuring the area remains protected, undeveloped, and rich in natural biodiversity for all travelers to enjoy throughout the seasons.

Amenities & Park Features

While the park leans toward a more traditional camping experience, it offers essential comforts including several loops with electric and water hookups suitable for various RV sizes. On-site, guests have access to a farm-to-table cafe serving local ingredients, a well-stocked camp store, and clean bathhouses. A standout feature is the kayak and canoe rentals, allowing campers to launch directly from the shore to explore the calm coastal inlets and tidal waters that surround the property.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the miles of hiking and biking trails that meander through the dense woods and along the rocky shoreline. Being just minutes from the heart of downtown Freeport, guests can easily visit the world-famous L.L. Bean Flagship Store and a variety of high-end outlet shops. For those interested in sustainable living, the farm offers educational workshops and the chance to observe organic gardening and livestock operations firsthand throughout their stay.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for travelers seeking a tranquil, nature-focused retreat rather than a busy commercial resort with luxury amenities. It is a fantastic choice for families who enjoy educational farm experiences and pet owners who want to explore coastal trails with their dogs. If you value oceanfront sunrises, sustainable agriculture, and a deep connection to the land, this Maine gem is a perfect fit for your next coastal RV adventure.

Waterfront campsite, canoe launch and stairs to water were a few sites down, but I took the steep path straight from our site. Bathhouse was large, bright and clean. Site was large with plenty of level spots for choice for tent placement. Beautiful sunsets

Came here for a 3 night camping trip on site 700. I cried happy tears when I got there!!! It was beautiful and had everything I could possibly need! The store was fully stocked with meats, snacks, ice, firewood, gift shop items, basic necessities and everything in between. I didn’t know this was an organic farm when we booked the trip. But having an ocean view, organic farm, full on store and even breakfast on site blew me away. Best vacation I’ve ever taken!!!!!! We plan on going back with a bigger group next time

First time here, and hopefully many times to come. We enjoyed how large the campsites were and the bathrooms were kept very clean (even the portapottys). Such a unique experience to be right on a working farm. Wake up have some coffee and pet a goat. They also offer "wicked easy" sites where they set up your tent site for you and everything you need. Great option for a quick getaway.

This is easily one of the best campsites I've ever been to. The staff is very friendly and informative. The facilities are also very well taken care of. The bathrooms by the tents are out houses, but are very very clean and updated. Feels like a real bathroom. The firewood they sell is actually the same price as the grocery store and a much better quality. I recommending buying your firewood from them. The campsites are all beautfil. we stayed in the 300s along the ocean. Although it was a rainy weekend we really had a great time.
