Overview
Woodsmoke Camping Resort provides a tranquil, natural escape within the bustling city of Fort Myers. Spanning over thirty acres of lush tropical landscape, this park offers a sense of seclusion while remaining close to modern conveniences. Known fondly as one of the friendliest places in Florida, the resort has spent decades cultivating a welcoming atmosphere that balances the charm of a rustic retreat with the high standards of a premier RV destination.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in South Fort Myers, the resort is strategically positioned between the vibrant city center and the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico. The park itself features winding paved roads and heavily shaded sites, providing a canopy of mature trees that is rare among coastal Florida resorts. Its location near major corridors like I-75 and Alico Road ensures that travelers have easy access to the region's top-tier shopping centers, medical facilities, and dining options without sacrificing a quiet night's sleep.

The facility is exceptionally well-equipped with amenities designed for long-term comfort and daily recreation. Guests have year-round access to a large heated swimming pool and a relaxing whirlpool spa. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the park includes a stocked fishing pond, shuffleboard courts, and a scenic boardwalk that winds through a protected natural preserve. Every site offers full hookups with concrete pads and basic WiFi, ensuring a level and reliable setup for even the largest motorhomes and fifth wheels.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Adventure is never far away, with the world-famous sands of Fort Myers Beach and the shelling shores of Sanibel and Captiva Islands located just a short drive from the entrance. History buffs can explore the Edison and Ford Winter Estates, while nature enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. For sports fans, the park serves as an excellent base camp for attending Major League Baseball spring training games at nearby stadiums.
Who This Park Is Best For
Woodsmoke Camping Resort is an ideal match for winter snowbirds looking for a seasonal community and families wanting a central hub for Southwest Florida exploration. Its quiet, wooded environment appeals most to travelers who prefer a natural park atmosphere over a paved parking lot style resort. It is a perfect fit for those who value privacy at their campsite while still wanting to be minutes away from Florida's most iconic coastal attractions.

The park itself was OK. But we pulled in on Saturday and since there's no staff on weekends we picked up our packet and went to our assigned site. Another vehicle was still there, no one home and no sign they were leaving any time soon. We called the emergency number and had to leave a message. No one ever contacted us. We finally picked a spot at random and set up. We left another message with them but never got a call back. Disappointing service.

This place is amazing. Truly a hidden gem in the Fort Myers area. It is quiet and peaceful The front desk staff are amazing. They are always there to help. So very friendly and accommodating. I am so glad I found this place to call my temporary home

Not a good park. A guy nocked on my door after 11pm to tell me it was raining. Than I had the cops called on me cause I made to much noise after nine. Three times I had someone walk onto my lot in the middle of the night. They kicked me out on my birthday with no opportunity to defend myself. If someone filed a complaint against you at the very least you should be given a chance to explain your side of the story. These ppl are criminals.

Amazing location and nice staff! Only bad side is that they don’t have the office open on weekends to get packages. But look at this location. Pure heaven.

Park is not managed well. There are a lot of full time working residents who do not keep their areas clean and some junk cars and vans. Small children riding scooters and making lots of noise.
