Worlds End

Overview

Worlds End State Park offers a secluded getaway nestled in the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania. This 780-acre park is famous for its narrow canyon and rugged beauty, providing a true escape from the bustle of modern life. Visitors are drawn to the Loyalsock Creek, which carves through the landscape, offering a serene backdrop for an authentic outdoor experience. It is a place where nature remains largely undisturbed, inviting travelers to disconnect and recharge in a stunning valley setting.

Location & Surroundings

Located in Sullivan County near Forksville, the park sits within a deep gorge surrounded by the Loyalsock State Forest. The surrounding terrain is characterized by steep mountainsides and rocky outcrops. Driving into the valley reveals the Forksville Covered Bridge, a historic landmark just outside the park gates. The location is remote, meaning cell service is limited, which enhances the feeling of being at the edge of the wilderness while still being accessible via winding mountain roads.

Amenities & Park Features

The campground features several sites equipped with electric hookups, catering to RVers who need a bit of power during their stay. While the park maintains a rustic atmosphere, guests have access to modern restrooms and showers located centrally within the camping area. There is also a sanitary dump station available for self-contained rigs. Travelers should note that most sites are wooded and provide a sense of privacy, though larger rigs should check specific site dimensions before arrival.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do, starting with the Loyalsock Trail, which offers challenging hikes and breathtaking vistas. The park features a small swimming area in the creek and numerous spots for trout fishing. A short drive leads to the Canyon Vista Overlook, where you can see the expansive valley below. For a bit of local history, the nearby village of Eagles Mere provides charming shops and a historic museum within a short distance of the park.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for nature lovers and hikers who prioritize scenery over resort-style amenities. It is a perfect fit for those seeking a tranquil mountain retreat where the sound of the water replaces city noise. Because of its rugged terrain and limited connectivity, it attracts self-reliant RVers who enjoy traditional camping. If you want to immerse yourself in Pennsylvania's wild interior and enjoy a back-to-basics lifestyle, Worlds End is a premier destination.

World's End State Park has nice displays in the park office and visitor center. There's lots of information available about the park and the surrounding area. A picnic pavilion is just off the office area. A book loan box and memorial bench are also in this area.

Thos park is amazing. The cabins are really cool to rent and give you the opportunity to explore nearby from the moment the sun comes up! Love loyalsock creek and loyalsock state park where there are dozens of beautiful waterfalls. Excited to go back there and explore

Although it rained a lot during this particular stay at the family camp grounds. I enjoy a view from Canyon Vista, Rock Garden and High Rocks Waterfall. I will be returning the explore more of the trails and there is so much more to check out nearby Forksville, Laporte and Eagles Mere.
