Yellowstone/Fishing Bridge

Overview

Fishing Bridge RV Park stands as the only campground within Yellowstone National Park to offer full hookups, making it a premier destination for those who prefer modern conveniences while exploring the wilderness. Located near the mouth of the Yellowstone River, this facility requires hard-sided units only to ensure visitor safety in an active grizzly bear habitat. Following recent extensive renovations, the park provides a reliable and updated basecamp for your national park adventure.

Location & Surroundings

The park is nestled within a dense forest of lodgepole pines, just a short walk from the historic Fishing Bridge and the sprawling shores of Yellowstone Lake. Its central location on the park's eastern side serves as a strategic crossroads between the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the lake district. Staying here places you in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, where the air is crisp and the scenery is dominated by high-altitude forest vistas.

Amenities & Park Features

As the most developed RV site in the park, travelers benefit from 50-amp electricity, water, and sewer connections at every site. The facility includes a large registration building, a well-stocked camp store, and modernized laundry and shower facilities. Because it was redesigned to accommodate larger rigs, many sites feature increased maneuvering room. The presence of an on-site dump station and potable water ensures all your technical needs are met during your stay.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

From this central hub, a short drive north brings you to Hayden Valley, one of the best locations in the lower 48 states for viewing bison, grizzly bears, and wolves. To the south, visitors can explore the vastness of Yellowstone Lake or visit the bubbling cauldrons at Mud Volcano. The historic Lake Hotel and the nearby visitor center offer educational exhibits and dining options within a few minutes of your campsite.

Who This Park Is Best For

This location is ideal for big rig owners and families who want the comforts of home while staying deep inside a national park. If your travel style favors utility over a rustic, primitive experience, this is your best option. It is perfect for those prioritizing wildlife viewing and central access to the park’s main loops, provided you are traveling in a hard-sided RV or camper that meets the grizzly-safe requirements.

Parking area on the west side, can walk on bridge and see the beginning of the Yellowstone River that has carved the Grand Canyon for who know how long

Very beautiful bridge you can walk over. If you look just right, you can see some huge steelhead swimming below. You can’t fish from the bridge. No fishing from the bridge at fishing bridge. Hehehehehe

Ironically, fishing isn’t allowed here — but it’s still a nice spot to pause and take in views of Yellowstone Lake. That said, if you’re a first-time visitor with limited time, I’d recommend prioritizing other more iconic spots in the park.

Very nice view of the yellow stone river. Watch trout come to the surface to eat bugs. Has a nice general store just past the bridge where you can get groceries, ice cream, souvenirs, gas.

This is a nice area. There’s a campground, a gas station, a car repair place, a small food market. The hotel has a nice sitting area where you can get drinks and relax. The lake is beautiful.
