We chose this campground instead of Lake Louise because we thought it would be more remote, more authentic, less crowded. Boy it was a great decision! We stayed 5 nights and discovered the Yoho and Lake Louise area. Sites 40 - 45 offer good views of the mountain. The train horn can get loud and it takes about 15 minutes to pass by because it circles around in the tunnel spirals.

Camping is nice, our spot n18 was near a little stream and isolated from the others which was nice. No firewood provided when we were there so they gave us a refund. Big issues here : train noises, the train is doing those 2 loops in the mountains so you hear it forever + it honks like crazy at night, bring earplugs and be prepared to be awaken a few time a night…

This was definitely one of our favorite campgrounds! We had site 71 and it was beautiful! Hearing the river and having it right off our site was amazing. The site was wooded and the facilities were nice and clean. We would absolutely stay here again!

Lucked out and got a last minute site for this week as our original site in the Takakkaw Falls campground was closed due to bear activity in the area. Best campground ever. Lots of tree cover, quiet, and so beyond beautiful. There’s not a single bad site and all the bathrooms around the campground were actual bathrooms, not outhouses or porta potties. Even from the further end of the campground, you can always hear the river, which I loved. Everything is within a 3-5 minute walk, including the beautiful and new shower house and bathrooms. With lots of hot water!!! Cell reception is iffy, but is not necessary as Field is very close by if you need to check emails, send messages, etc. Will be staying here for many camping trips to come. My new favourite campground!

This place was one of the coolest campgrounds I’ve been to in my life. The river access and quiet/dark atmosphere was perfect for sleeping and campfires. I would recommend the campsites at the bottom next to the creek they’re more isolated and have easy access in and out. Obviously take the ones on the river if you can but if not, site 7 was beautiful.

Loved this campground, will definitely be going back. Brand new washrooms with showers which were nicest we've ever been to at a campground.

Pleasant, wooded campsite, large and private pitches. $ 28 per night without water and electricity, more if there is a fireplace. By the river. New, clean and large sanitary facilities. Autonomous arrival in the evening, payment in the morning.
