I have been camping in this spot for a few years. I keep coming back for a reason. Beautiful place to relax with the family and friends. Great place to camp. They offer showers at this site which is a big plus! Overall, experience is always positive.

First of all, the staff was super pleasant to deal with at the front desk as well as the staff members we came across during the stay. There are areas of the RV park that are gorgeous. Spots by the creek looked great, and where we ended up eventually on a terrace was nice as well. The Valero/Camp Store had a good selection of things if you forgot something (we needed an additional length of sewer hose) The not great: We were originally placed in a site that by the time we deployed our slides, we were basically sharing the area outside our trailer with our neighbors. They alternate the direction of trailers on sites 144-177. It was so close that our neighbors had to move their picnic table so we could pull into our site. When we got out of the truck there was old food and debris left from whomever. Not sure if it was the adjacent campers or the previous tenants who had left that morning (obvious from the reservation papers still clipped to the power pedestal). The bad: Sites 144 through 159 are covered by a solar panel array that is 25ft off the ground. I can't think of anything that removes you from a nice "wilderness" oriented vacation than staring at a towering set of solar panels that would block views of the night sky. We were able to speak to the staff at the front desk and get moved away from the panels thankfully. The dangerous: While our new spot was in a great location, when we were setting up we plugged in our power cord and heard a crackling from the pedestal. Immediately disconnected power. The 15amp outlet was fine, and we had the correct adapters to get us through the night. We notified the front desk that night, the next night, and the next that the power pedestal wasn't functioning properly. Eventually a staff member came by the site asking if we were interested in becoming Thousand Trails members. We explained what was going on with the power pedestal and he suggested we use the adjacent site's power, which we did for the remainder of our stay. I don't think anyone ever came to check out the outlet that was crackling. One final tip, skip getting gas at the attached Valero and just fuel up at Crane Flat inside the park. Diesel was $1 cheaper per gallon.

This member/public resort parks is located just minutes from Yosemite National Park in Calif. Staff is very accommodating and respectful. This was my 2nd visit to the resort, last being 17yrs ago. Some improvements have been done and some in progress. There's a large solar aray which is great for shade especially during the hot months. My only complaint is there needs to be washed gravel placed under this solar/port area. While here in Late September it did rain and the rain ran off the solar panels onto the dirt pads we were set up on under the panels. As such There's mud splashed up all over my car and motor home. This is my only major complaint with this park. Well, maybe all the inconsiderate drivers driving to fast on the inner gravel park roads as well. Maybe there's plans to gravel the solar sights in the future, hope so for future campers.

We stayed in an rv spot. A great location near the river. The ones in the back I wouldn’t have liked. Being under the solar panels. Really glad we didn’t get one of those spots. It was peaceful , clean and quiet. A great location for visiting the town of Groveland and up to Yosemite. Wish our stay was longer. We will definitely be back! Cute little trails behind the campground you could walk. The rec room was super nice and updated.

Pros: Good and solid RV park near the Yosemite entrance. Full hook up and there was a small lovely stream nearby for kayaking, SUP and bathing. Some toilets were nicer than others. Cons: somehow almost all campers were cramped into in the same area and it got really smokey in the evening when everyone made a fire. There were enough space to distribute RVs more evenly and spread it out a bit. No Wifi at the camp sites, only at the office.

Stayed here for the first time. Loved it. The staff were a bit over worked with all the check-ins buy nice and helpful. Full hook ups and large parking if needed. We have a 36 ft trailer and had no problem parking. Great stream behind our spot with fish and people were floating in.

The location is great—only about six miles from the entrance to Yosemite, which made getting in and out super convenient. The campground itself is nice and well maintained. That said, we were pretty disappointed with the service. Our site didn’t have a table or a fire pit. We reported this to the office when we checked in, and they told us someone would bring them over, but no one ever did. It was especially frustrating at night when the temperature dropped and we had no way to stay warm. We stayed for two nights and never heard back from anyone. It really impacted our experience. The location is excellent, but the management definitely needs to improve their follow-up and service.

The RV park is in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed our stay and especially liked meeting the neighbors. There is no cell service or wi fi in the rv sites. We were able to go up to the laundry room and make calls. The bathrooms are just ok. The roads could definitely use some repair. The campground is in a great location for visiting Yosemite.

This was our first time staying at a Thousand Trails site and this specific location. We stayed at an RV site with 2 vehicles, one converted plug-in camper van and one guest vehicle with rooftop tent. Pros: - About half hour to Yosemite National Park West Gate and half hour the other way to Groveland. - Good amount of space on the RV site with enough separation from other sites. Pedestal and spigot worked fine. - Friendly and helpful staff. - Nice lodge building with A/C and open seating to lounge and hangout. Decent playground and mini golf course - On-site laundromat. Cons: - The link in the email to pre-check-in did not work. Our after hours registration packet was not there when we arrived. Thankfully, Mark was still in the office and came out to confirm our reservation and direct us to our site. The following morning, Rachel came to check on our site and obviously questioned why we didn't have our tag and advised me to check in with the office when they opened at 9am. I did so and their system was down, but Rachel was able to finally look up and confirm my registration and give me a tag. Also, the map online did not match the actual map so there was a missing bathroom where there used to be one so I was roaming around confused for a bit. The whole registration, information and check-in process just wasn't smooth. - Most RV sites/campgrounds we've stayed at have a general store within convenient walking distance. Unfortunately, the one here is right at the highway entrance about a half mile from the actual campground. So if you forgot anything or need firewood, you have to pick up on your way in or drive up there. We did do the half hour round trip walk a couple of times. - Although the lodge is a nice building, some things in there were broken or unavailable like the air hockey table, one of the shuffleboard pieces and TV. - They are upfront about this when you book, but the wifi is terrible or non-existent. There is no cell service. Wifi is only available around the laundry room or lodge and is not very good. If you have Starlink, I recommend using it if you need to stay connected.

We are new RV owners and wanted our first trip to be close to home in Cedar Ridge/Sonora. Thousands Trails Yosemite Lakes was excellent. Our RV power, water and sewage hookup all worked great. The water is from a water tower so a pressure regulator is a must. We met Levi who works there and you could not ask for a more helpful and friendly person. When he found out we were new RV owners he went out of his way to help us out.

This place is amazing. The staff is so wonderful and helpful. Our rental car broke down and the staff of the entire park went above and beyond. Even sharing their dinner with us. Carrie, Deborah, and Levi, we are so grateful! Thank you! Plus the cabin was lovely. Cozy and very comfortable. Kindhearted, generous people in a beautiful place, at the gates of Yosemite: all you could wish for when visiting a National Park.

We had a great time staying here. It was the last weekend that they were open for the season so there wasn’t much to do. I find it strange that you’re not able to have fires, but you could have a charcoal grill. The staff were friendly. The campgrounds were large. I only gave it four stars because you’re not able to book a site, you were only able to book a guaranteed spot. I talked to one of the staff members and they say they are changing it soon. I would definitely stay here again.

I was very disappointed with Tom when I checked in this morning the very nice gentleman had said they refill Propane till 6pm so I was like perfect we arrive at 5:30pm Tom had said sorry he can't because it's dark mind you there was still light out I even offered to bring an extension cord with light and then he said he can't leave the desk so I have my 7 year old son in our trailer cold because Tom didn't want to refill my Propane when I clearly went before 6pm and it is Feb cold at night 30 degrees but thanks for that

What an amazing place to stay! Only wished they had cellphone reception. But then again, not having any was great to disconnect from our daily routine! I wish I could come back during spring/summer
