We have camped at over 200 campgrounds in the past 8 years. Our experience at Yosemite Ridge was the worst. The campground changed ownership in 2021. Yosemite Ridge Resort is no resort: very poorly maintained, old and unclean bathrooms, pool drained, general store closed. It is, however, conveniently located to the Big Oak Flat entrance to Yosemite NP. Our pull-through site (RV7) was plenty spacious with full hookups. We had no cell service and no wifi signal. Our low rating is not entirely due to the rundown condition of the campground…maybe the new owners will improve it over time. Our low rating is also due to the campground manager confronting us on our fifth night there and demanding we pay more money. We reserved the site over a year in advance through Reserve America and paid in full when we made the reservation. Our reservation transferred to the new owner (in fact we had no issues at all checking in), but apparently the record of our payment did not. We provided him with copies of reservation confirmations showing we had paid and credit card statements for proof of payment. He disregarded our proof of payment (said it was for a different reservation) and insisted he had no record of it and that’s all that mattered to him. He refused to provide the name of the campground owner so we could resolve the issue directly. He would not stop badgering us until we paid him an additional 50% of the weekly fee. There are much better campgrounds to stay at than Yosemite Ridge if you are planning a trip Yosemite NP. We ended up moving down the road to a much nicer campground about 4 miles from the park entrance.

Close to the park, quiet location. Can’t expect perfectly level spots in a mountainous area. New owners are starting to work on the bathrooms now. Lucky Buck restaurant next door has awesome food and staff.

I do not recommend anyone stay here unless you're insanely desperate and even then you should only pay a fraction of what they're asking. Our trip was ruined as we had to cut Yosemite short and move onto Sequoia due to the state of this place. The pictures are false advertising as you think you're booking a nice place to stay. The only positive is it's location to the park. We were supposed to be there for 4 days, but it was so bad we left after 2 (it took a couple of days to find alternate arrangements) and are now fighting for a refund as Reserve America and the campground owner are both saying we need to talk to the other. Management changed recently and the new management is NOT taking care of the place, but making sure to blame the old owner. If you look back a few months (when we booked) it had good reviews at the time. Reviews go south a month or two ago after the new owner took over. Last I checked it doesn't take a month to get new shower curtains, clean the bathrooms, and get hot water. The pool is out of order and covered. Laundry room filthy and mostly out of order. Bathrooms absolutely disgusting - shower pans filthy, rusty, hair in the drains, moldy shower curtains, and no hot water in bathrooms or laundry. Countertops covered in dust and debris. Major bee / wasp infestation, but they're doing nothing about it. There's some old traps that are full and dried up and no longer working. So if you're ok with a cold shower in a dirty disgusting bathroom, no pool, and sharing your space with hundreds of bees then this is the place for you!! There's several other campgrounds in the area that all appeared to be better taken care of than this dump. I've reached out to Reserve America and advised they should remove them from their list as they are not up to par. Their pictures show a lovely pool, green grass, good facilities - it's none of those things.

The staff was friendly at check in. We were in site #4 and with two layers of leveling blocks we still tilted hard to the door side of the camper. Couldn’t raise it any higher or we’d need a harness and climbing ropes to get in and out. Our view from the dinette was of an abandoned single wide trailer falling apart on the hillside. Behind us the salt of the earth was screaming at her barking dog at midnight until she had enough and did something to make it yelp…the dog didn’t stop. Another loose dog in the campground came after my dog while I was walking her. WiFi was reasonably fast but you have to stand on the front steps to connect to it from this site. Tried to do laundry but it was being used by a local woman who appeared to be doing a couple weeks worth at one time. With two washers and one dryer in operation it looks like we will be making the midnight barking dog excited again tonight after we have our turn at the laundry. A pool exists…but it is covered in July so I’m assuming it won’t be in service for some time. Pets must be on a leash but there is no dog area anywhere on-site as well as no grass other than the dead growth on what appears to have once been an extension of this dilapidated “resort”. It functioned as a place to park, dump, and refill the water tanks with reasonable proximity to Yosemite. That is all.

This COULD be a 5 star Campground, but it looks like it has poor management. No hot water for laundry and showers. trashy. HOWEVER it is a Great location. Only 12 miles from Yosemite West Gate. So if you're looking for a place to park and sleep. Go for it. But if you're looking for a place that is nice and kept up, with nice showers and restrooms, this place is not for you.
