Yuba
Overview
Yuba State Park, located just south of Levan, Utah, is a premier destination for water recreation enthusiasts and desert explorers. Centered around the expansive Sevier Bridge Reservoir, this park offers a unique blend of rugged scenery and refreshing water. It is widely known for its warm water temperatures during the summer months, making it a favorite for swimmers and boaters who want to escape the dry heat of Central Utah. The park serves as a vital recreational hub where the desert meets the water, providing a distinct experience for those traveling through the region.
Location & Surroundings
The park is situated in a high-desert environment characterized by rolling hills, sagebrush, and distant mountain peaks. Its proximity to Interstate 15 makes it an incredibly accessible stop for travelers moving between Northern and Southern Utah. The landscape features a rugged, arid terrain that provides a stark and beautiful contrast to the vast blue expanse of the Sevier Bridge Reservoir. This location offers wide-open skies and a sense of isolation while remaining close enough to the small town of Levan for basic necessities.
Amenities & Park Features
RV travelers will find well-maintained facilities tailored to modern camping needs, particularly at the Oasis Campground. This area provides developed sites with electrical and water hookups, while the Painted Rocks campground on the eastern shore offers additional hookup options. Visitors have access to modern restrooms and showers, ensuring comfort in the desert climate. For those traveling with watercraft, the park features multiple concrete boat ramps and a convenient RV dump station, making it easy to manage a self-contained rig during a multi-day stay.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The primary draw is the reservoir itself, which is a hotspot for walleye and yellow perch fishing. Boating, jet skiing, and paddleboarding are the dominant activities, with plenty of room on the water for high-speed fun. Beyond the shoreline, the area is surrounded by extensive OHV trails, allowing off-road enthusiasts to explore the desert terrain directly from their campsites. Bird watchers and nature photographers will also find plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife and migratory birds that frequent the water’s edge throughout the seasons.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for active families and groups who travel with motorized toys, such as boats or ATVs. Because of its developed campgrounds and utility options, it is a perfect fit for RVers who prefer on-site hookups and modern conveniences while still enjoying a rustic outdoor setting. It is especially suited for travelers who thrive in a social, high-energy environment and those looking for a water-based desert retreat that accommodates big rigs and adventure-heavy itineraries.

Beautiful scenery overlooking the lake and surroinds. The quiet camping areas are well looked after and clean and tidy with toilets, picnic tables and fire pits provided. The toilets are pit toilets but they are clean with hand sanitizer and toilet paper provided and do not smell. Dumping station and potable is also available.

Love the sandy beaches. Tons of restrooms. Sad that there was trash and glass everywhere. We camped at North Beach. Just a few areas with trees. A bit dusty when the wind kicks up but no to bad. Bugs were a minimum. Great to swim and paddle board. Fire rings and Picknic tables about every 20 feet or so. You can drive right down to the water which was fun. Very sandy and soft in some places.

We stayed at the painted rocks camp grounds at Yuba State Park for 3 days in Aug 2025. Our camp host was Kelly who went the extra mile in making our stay memorable and comfortable. Every morning Kelly would make sure that on his watch the campground, vault toilets and grounds were spotless. He was always available to answer questions and gave help as needed. We enjoyed our short stay at Painted Rocks and Kelly was a most excellent host. Thank you Kelly!

North Oasis Group Site Rental Review My friends and I rented the North group site over a weekend in July 2025. Some positives to this site are the proximity to the pit bathrooms, walking trail to beach below campsites and newly added shade hung over the picnic tables found at site. Some negatives to be aware of is that there is no grill at the site, there is a habit for people to park at the site to walk down to the beach (due to proximity to walking path) and it’s common for beach goers to walk through the site to get to the beach as well. Be aware of this if you enjoy camping in privacy 😅 Otherwise it’s a nice sight, beautiful views overlooking the cliff edge, a muddy but refreshing beach below (access via walking down a hill or driving a 4 wheeler/truck down ) bathrooms, a fire pit and shaded tables provided. A nice camp spot for families or friends if you know what you’re going into.

We had a birthday party at North Beach and spent a good part of 1 day hanging out at the beach. We had hoped to do some kayak fishing but Mother Nature decided it was a great day for wind. That evening we had a reservation for the Walleye Cabin at the Oasis Campground. Very decent accommodations and love the on-site hot showers and bathrooms.
