Zen Monkey RV Retreat

The area appears to be primarily long term residents. There was a rusty firepit, bathrooms were disgusting and filthy also they were locked and had to call for a code to use. We pulled in late and had to wait till morning to get code. They quote price then asked for an extra $15 to hold your spot. I would have rather parked at a truck stop.

Stayed at Zen Monkey retreat with a rental from Outpost Supply Co on Instagram. Setup was easy even without much experience with the rig. The campsite is east to find and in a good location. I felt misled by the name- 1. There is another company called Zen Monkey in the area that definitely feels retreat-ish but this isn’t that. 2. We were one of 4 campers the night we stayed and all of the others appeared to be permanent or long-term lodgers. It made it feel like we were uninvited guests at a strangers house. Having said that, the folks who run the campground were very nice and each of them checked in with us. And from our site we could see horses, cows, a pond, and a llama, so that was fun. I just would’ve preferred to know ahead of time that it was more of a long-term RV park than a campground or “retreat”
