It would be really nice to have on site sewer hookups. But otherwise the park is great. The park is quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Cute little place. Road can be rough to get there. Electric and water hookup only. And you share water with your neighbors. Not much for kids to do. Looks like people also live here year round. Also the trash isn't easily assessable for people traveling. Also for sewage dumping we had to use our own hoses cause theirs were garbage.

I'm going to edit my review of this place because of the honesty of the owners reply. I never expected that, 99.9% ok of places wouldn't have been so honest. 😁 I also called and she was very pleasant on the phone and said my daughters card had not been charged. We were both very grateful for that as well. When the rainy season is over, I'm sure it is a much nicer place in the quiet country. If traveling though at a dryer season and when the hayfields are mowed, it's probably beautiful. It looked nothing like the pictures at this time. I made a reservation based on the reviews. I drove out a 1 lane dirt road past a swampy area. It looked as though there had been a hard rainy season, which the owner replied there had been. I arrived close to dusk and the campground was not marked great, in fact if there were no campers there, it didn't look like a campground at all. Maybe someday, but the center was an uncut Hayfield. I spoke with a man who seemed to be a long time camper, who was very nice and explained that my place must have been on the other side, which it was. The crickets were so loud, that I could hardly hear him speak. I drove around another dirt road and finally found the campsite. The water was across the road and there was one water spigot for several sites. I had an extremely hard time backing into the site. Too many trees and a tire circle to mark a fire ring that was in the way. The grass was mowed around the site , but nowhere else. I could see an electrical hook up. I decided to leave quickly before it got really dark. There were no lights anywhere and the mosquitoes were so thick that they just about covered my windshield and I knew I would be eaten alive just opening my door. It looked like it would be a great place to live and farm, but definitely not a campsite. Please speak with someone 1st before making an online reservation, which my daughter did online for me.

4 Mile Creek and Resort? Take out the word resort for me please.. I decided to book my reservation before reading the reviews. Definitely read the reviews, it speaks volumes.. the office is sooo unorganized and “Bri” will lie and make excuses for mistakes made.. There was poison ivy at the camp sit and I had to move to because my reservation was booked over, even though I had booked it at least a month in advance… They had reassigned me to a spot that I intentionally did not want due to sun exposure. There was no reasoning behind the lot change. When I called she said that someone had dropped off their camper and they were trying to tow it. Then I got there and didn’t want to park in the lot. I drove around the whole site and there was a vast majority without water. I called Bri to get permission to change spots, she said then said “the people who parked in my spot are long term campers and parked it in the wrong spot and move it to SS20. They’ll move it tonight after they get off work.” They never moved it. Talking to people at the site, SS20 is the owner’s spot. Just go park in it if you’re booked over, it looked like a beautiful spot! Also, there were in-ground fire pits that were/are rusted and filled in with debris instead of properly removed. There were so many long term “campers” I’m surprised I found a spot. But I’m pretty sure this is a homeless encampment.. not too sure though. The “guests” were moderately friendly though. Definitely not a state park though… just make the extra 40 minute drive and go stay at Eldorado Lake. All-in-all, would I stay here again, sure! It was absolutely a beautiful location! But having a 3 year old and a 7 month old, the safety hazards such as poison ivy and massive holes that could break legs, it’s not a very safe place… not too mention, I don’t like being lied to. I would prefer the honest answer of “crap I didn’t mean to book over your reservation.” Honesty goes a LONG way in my world and shows who you are as a business and an individual. Maybe hopefully 5 years from now, it’ll be more organized and more honest with better maintenance… if the owners read this, please don’t take it as disrespect, but an honest truth and I hope you take these safety hazards into consideration for the future campers who might not recognize the safety risks…

This very quiet park features lots of deciduous trees with a large open area and average sized sites with gravel pads. We visited for 3 nights mid-week and most of the units appeared unoccupied. I assume they are seasonals/permanents and used more on the weekends. In one area they looked like people working in the area in the short term, which is common. The bathhouse is dated and institutional but has been upgraded with tile floors and is functional and reasonably clean but stained with age. There is a pond by the lower level that I think you can swim in but otherwise no playground or other kid oriented equipment that I noticed. Sites are all water/electric with a dump site and free use of a “honey bucket” cart to empty your tanks. The downside to this location is you must drive about 2 miles on good gravel roads that are very dusty. Your vehicle will be very dirty. The Wifi worked pretty well. Propane refills are available.

Great, quiet campground. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a nice campground close to Derby/Wichita. The little lake has a great sand beach that is shaded. My kids loved it. We spent hours there. Fishing is also good. We caught several bass including a 3lber. Things to know...it's approx 1.5 miles of gravel to get there. The campground has several permanent residents but that doesn't detract from the campground, they keep their areas nice and tidy.
