Abita Springs Resort

Overview

Abita Springs Resort offers a serene escape among the towering pine trees of St. Tammany Parish. Located just outside the historic town of Abita Springs, this resort provides a quiet atmosphere for travelers looking to experience the unique culture of the Louisiana Northshore. The park combines modern conveniences with a natural, rustic setting, making it a reliable choice for long-term stays or quick weekend getaways for those exploring the region.

Location & Surroundings

The park is nestled within a lush, forested area that feels secluded yet remains highly accessible to local conveniences. It serves as a gateway to the Tammany Trace, a renowned 31-mile rails-to-trails path that connects several charming towns via hiking and biking. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rolling hills and dense greenery, offering a distinct contrast to the marshy lowlands often associated with southern Louisiana while maintaining convenient highway access.

Amenities & Park Features

Guests can enjoy a variety of on-site facilities designed for relaxation and recreation. The resort features a large outdoor swimming pool and a well-equipped clubhouse that serves as a hub for community events and social gatherings. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there is a stocked fishing pond and a miniature golf course located right on the grounds. Practical needs are well-covered with clean bathhouses, laundry facilities, and sites that accommodate a range of RV sizes.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

There is no shortage of local culture to explore just minutes from the campground. The Abita Brewing Company is a must-visit for craft beer enthusiasts, while the eccentric Abita Mystery House offers a quirky look at local folk art and oddities. Nature lovers can spend the day at nearby Fontainebleau State Park or explore the Mandeville lakefront. Additionally, the vibrant energy and world-class dining of New Orleans are only about an hour’s drive away.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for families and retirees who appreciate a slower pace of life and a community-oriented environment. It is particularly popular with members of national RV networks looking for a consistent, reliable experience in a wooded setting. It is best for travelers who want to enjoy the tranquility of the woods while remaining close enough to urban centers for unique dining, shopping, and historical sightseeing.

Very clean, quiet resort with great staff & friendly neighbors. Several fishing spots so bring your fishing gear. Nice bass out there. Awesome safe place for the kids to trick or treat on a camping trip.

Pierre was great. Great person. Great salesman. He was very kind and well spoken. Keep Him. Never let Him go. Any person who likes camping should definitely purchase a membership. It is an easy “yes” for a camper or anyone who likes to travel. It’s totally worth it.

Great place to RV. The grounds are immaculately kept and the entire place is beautiful. We stayed four nights free in exchange for a presentation on membership. Pierre presented us with all the membership details and gave us a tour of the property. He was very professional and not pushy at all. We have not committed on the membership at this time but will consider for the future. It does seem to be a good deal, especially with all the related properties you can visit.

This resort is beautiful and the staff were very professional and knowledgeable. For me and my family a membership didn’t pan out but we were willing to entertain the idea. Visitors ask all of your questions before committing. You have a 3 day period to rescind so know that ahead of time. It’s mapped out in your contract. So far great customer service.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the resort. We couldn't have been treated any better during our weekend. Thank you Scott for helping with my campers awning. You were a great help from the time we arrived to the time we were leaving. Nicest man you could ever meet! Pierre, your presentation of the resort and the other affiliates were on target. You explained everything to us over and over until we were understanding the value of becoming a member. You will be hearing from us in the near future. Larry, we just wanted to thank you for the invite to come stay at the resort. It is beautiful and it shows the pride taken by you and the staff to keep it a top notch facility. Your staff should feel great knowing their hard work shows prominently throughout the Resort. It has all the comforts you could ever need or ask for! Thank You again for the perfect weekend! Everything was great! Super friendly staff, clean park, quiet, lots of entertainment near by, and plenty for kids to do. The only issue we had was our cabin was given to someone else the day of check in so we were given another cabin and it had a terrible smell in it that was solved with plug ins! I would definitely go back!

My husband and I attended a tour today. The salesman was super nice and even though we couldn’t purchase a membership at this time we will definitely look into it in the future.

This trip was bitter sweet. We signed up for the free weekend with the provision that we took the tour. As far as the campground itself it is a beautiful place. Very well kept. The bathhouse was extremely clean and maintained. After taking the tour we were given the price which was well beyond what we were willing to spend. If we were close to retirement maybe, but not at this stage in our life. When we told the salesman Larry no, he became very rude and short with us. I explained I may be interested one day and asked for a business card. He refused saying he did not want to find it as litter on the grounds after we left. He also insinuated that I was a liar and had no intention of ever becoming a member. Later that day he then drove past our campsite multiple times day giving us dirty looks. Again the campground itself is beautiful, but be prepared to be treated like dirt and insulted if you decide not to become a member.
