Overview

Adams County Fairgrounds in Hastings, Nebraska, provides a practical and reliable camping experience for travelers exploring the heart of the Plains. Unlike high-end resorts, this facility offers a spacious and functional layout designed for convenience. It serves as a popular base for those attending local events or travelers moving along the regional highways who need a dependable place to park for a night or two while enjoying the local hospitality.

Location & Surroundings

The park is situated on the western edge of Hastings, providing easy access from both Highway 281 and Highway 6. The surrounding landscape is characterized by wide-open skies and flat terrain, typical of central Nebraska. Its proximity to the city center means guests are only minutes away from local grocery stores, fueling stations, and dining options while still enjoying a peaceful rural atmosphere away from heavy traffic congestion.

Amenities & Park Features

This facility is equipped with full hookup sites that include 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. The sites feature level gravel pads, which are well-suited for larger motorhomes and fifth wheels. While the park maintains a minimalist approach to amenities, it provides the essential infrastructure needed for a comfortable stay, including access to well-maintained grounds and easy maneuvering for larger vehicles.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Visitors are just a short drive from the Hastings Museum, where you can learn about the history of Kool-Aid and explore natural history exhibits. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the Pioneer Spirit Trail offers miles of paved paths for walking and cycling through the city. Architecture enthusiasts will also appreciate a visit to the historic Fisher Fountain, which serves as a centerpiece for local community gatherings and seasonal displays.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal choice for self-contained RVers who value utility and ease of access over resort-style perks. It is particularly well-suited for families attending the Oregon Trail Rodeo or the annual county fair. It was an excellent year at the fair! Great entertainment, excellent food choices. It's a great place for the entire family. From the amazing animals at the 4-H exhibit to the rides at the carnival. There was a little bit of something for everyone. Looking forward to next year!

Concert at the fairgrounds was excellent. Handicap accessibility is great. Small elevator to get up into grandstand. County Fair exhibits are fewer and fewer. Midway during the fair is fun.

Very spacious. We used the north building. They have different things you can use as decorations- lattice. They have.lits of tables and chairs. Bathrooms on both ends, and a good kitchen area. The only thing I would keep in mind is to bring thi gs like your own dish soap and towels. They do not have anything in the kitchen. I understand why because there are people who would take things. I just wish I had realized it before prom started. Haha. They have other things available, but they are add-ons to the package. Overall, though, they were flexible, room was great, and students had a nice time!
