Nice campground. The owners are really nice and are working hard to keep a nice place. Right off the Ahnapee rail trail. We road our bikes into sturgeon bay. Lighthouse is in the nearby town of Algoma.

I Made a reservation in April for August and put down the deposit. Now that I have a family medical issue the same weekend I reserved I had to cancel. When canceling I was told my deposit would not be refunded. I was not told that when making the reservation but was told it was in the email I received after making the reservation Which wouldn't matter because I already made the reservation so even if I canceled the same week I would be charged. This is ridiculous as I'm sure that the 1 campsite that was left would be filled. They have 3 months to fill it. I do not recommend this campground for that reason. 50.00 is not alot of money but there's no reason not to refund the customer when giving 3 months notice. They could at least let me use the deposit on a different weekend but was told no and the guy in the background was very rude.

Stayed Again in 2024. Still as awesome as it was in 2023. This is the Best most Awesome campground I have ever stayed at. The cleanliness is way above 100. Didn’t have time to use the pool but would have if I had time because it’s heated. The water temp is great and pool is sparkling clean. Owners Joe, David and 4 legged Bentley are the nicest people. Very Welcoming. I HIGHLY recommend this campground to anyone that is in the area. It’s worth going out of your way to get there. Right on the river, Great amenities. Wasn’t able to get pics but there are several on here. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable. Will definitely stay there again.

An absolutely delightful campground. The owners have taken great pride in creating a beautiful place to camp. The flowers and landscaping is really spectacular. The sites are great, some of them are shaded, also a few pull throughs, and some lovely rustic tent camping by a lagoon. The bathrooms are the cleanest I’ve seen in a campground. The pool is great as well. Nice new laundry facilities too. Right on the Ahnapee river as well as the Ahnapee Trail makes it a perfect location plus Algoma is the perfect little Door County town that isn’t overflowing with tourists, but should be because it’s so great. One of my favorite spots, and will definitely be back to camp here!

We used to love coming to this place but no longer after how we were treated the last time. I had booked the group tent site for four years in a row. The last time we camped there, we were approached the second night of our stay and told at 830pm that we needed to come to the office to pay right now. When we camped there the previous years, we either paid upon our arrival or right before we left. We tried to pay the first night but the owner said not to worry about it and come back when his wife was there. We tried to pay the next morning and no one was in the office so we thought we would square up right before we left the next morning as it seemed like a pretty relaxed place. Instead, on the second and last night of our stay, we were interrupted during our campfire and scolded to go to the office to pay right away. I could understand if that was the first time we had been there, but this was our fourth year in a row of staying there (and they had our credit card numbers, phone numbers, addresses, etc.). My friend and I went to the office to pay as they requested. As soon as the credit card was swiped and the machine read "approved" the owner was so friendly and her demeanor changed just like someone had flipped a switch. After that experience, my friend and our families will not go back.
