Antlers RV Park & Campground

Overview

Antlers RV Park & Campground offers a scenic retreat on the shores of Shasta Lake in Northern California. It provides a classic outdoor experience with modern conveniences, catering to families and outdoor enthusiasts looking for easy access to the water. The park maintains a perfect balance between a nature-focused getaway and a well-equipped base camp for exploring the surrounding national forest, ensuring guests feel right at home in the woods.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Lakehead, CA, the park is nestled deep within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. It occupies a unique position on a peninsula, offering stunning views of the lake and dense tree cover that provides ample shade for campers. The surrounding geography is defined by rugged mountains and the expansive arms of Shasta Lake, making it a prime destination for those who appreciate scenic lakefront vistas and tranquil forest sounds.

Amenities & Park Features

The park features full hookup RV sites designed to accommodate various rig sizes, including many spacious pull-through options for larger coaches. The amenities are built to support a comfortable stay:

  • Seasonal swimming pool for cooling off on summer days.
  • A well-stocked general store for snacks, ice, and camping essentials.
  • Clean laundry facilities and private restroom buildings.

One of the most significant benefits is the on-site boat ramp access, which allows visitors to launch directly into the lake. The sites are shaded by mature oak and pine trees, creating a cool, relaxing atmosphere throughout the park.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor recreation is the primary draw, with Shasta Lake serving as a massive playground for fishing, wakeboarding, and kayaking. A short drive south allows travelers to explore the underground wonders of Lake Shasta Caverns or take a tour of the historic Shasta Dam. Hikers will find miles of scenic trails within the national forest, while those looking for a longer day trip can visit the majestic Mount Shasta or the stunning waterfalls at McCloud.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for boating enthusiasts and families who want a summer vacation centered around high-energy water activities. It appeals to RVers who prefer a more traditional, wooded camping environment over a rigid, paved resort layout. If you value a social atmosphere and immediate access to Northern California’s premier lake, Antlers provides a functional and incredibly scenic home base for your next road trip.

RV park was excellent. Bathrooms were a bit dated. Water level was down. All in all good place to stop for a couple of nights.

Thank you Christine with your help with the WIFI connection so we were able to connect with our office. I have stayed at Antlers twice, everyone has always been accommodating. Thank you Christine for your help.

We had a great weekend on a houseboat thanks to Antlers! They have done extensive remodeling of their cabins, store and grounds and the houseboat was in really good shape. Wonderful customer service and a great time all around!

We rented a houseboat and a jetski and it was awesome! Being out on the lake with the family was the most relaxing weekend Ive ever had. They made it easy because they had a little boat on a trailer that we could load all of our supplies onto and they took it out to the lake and drove over to our houseboat, which made it super easy to load and unload!

We camped here and will stay again on our next trip to the Lakehead/ Shasta area. Friendly staff clean sites and bathrooms. Beautiful views. Nice clean pool. Fun for the whole family.

Very nice area of Shasta Lake. Only negative thing I have to say about putting your boat in at this dock is that I watched a very nice boat trying to get someone off their boat and was slammed into the dock as a boat towing flew by the area. Pulled this log out of the water so no one lost a life.

I never write negative reviews but I just had to. We found out the truck we rented months ago to pull our Airatream on our trip to Lake Shasta and Oregon was loaned to Cal Fire. We had to cancel a 2 week trip that we had looked forward to. Every campground has been understanding except for Antler's. We paid $160 for 2 nights and even though we cancelled 10 days before our reservation, they said they would not issue a refund. Supposedly they have a 45 day cancellation policy?? Plus they have rules after rules for example, if your dog's vaccination records WITH YOU, they won't let you stay. Plus they CHARGE you EXTRA for the electricity you use while you stay there. I would never go there and urge you to think twice before booking.

We kind of loved this campground with its rustic feeling, private sites, tons of shade, a nice pool, a store with large deck and picnic tables right on the shores of Lake Shasta! There were quite a few party groups in one section of the campground but the staff placed us in a great spot (close to the pool!!) and we couldn't hear them at all at night. The current condition of the campground is quite dilapidated, which makes the cost of $80/night for full hook up a bit cringeworthy, but I guess that's CA for ya. The playground was pretty old too and probably more fun for older kids less so for our 2 and 5 yos. They also have large houseboats for rent and a boat ramp. Lots to explore here, I look forward to coming back someday!

This place is run down. The bathrooms are ancient! The patio boat we rented wasn’t cleaned n the key starter didn’t work, plus it broke down in the middle of the lake. It took a long time for a tow. The sites are just blown. Our site had food on table n ground. We will not be back!

The R.V park was pretty dirty. Dog poop all over. The site is absolutely slammed tight. Smallest spots I've ever seen. Almost hard to even get the camper in. The picnic table is pretty much on your neighbors sewer drain. The pool was great and clean, and the lake with the store was very helpful.
