We travel to MO from ND every 2yrs for the GBATS truck show. In the past we stayed at a different campground & while it was nice, we were there really only to sleep. That other campground was full this year & they referred me to Ballards & I’m so glad they did! This campground was more than a place to park our 5th wheel…it was an amazing experience! From the beautiful views, large drive thru site with a patio/ grill/firepit, peaceful walks to the doggie park, or a stroll to the pond to watch the fish….you will definitely fall in love with Ballards. We experienced a bit of car trouble one morning & needed a couple new batteries for our pickup. The RV park manager came to the rescue & drove to nearest NAPA for us; wanting absolutely nothing in return for his time & trouble. You could tell that managing the park was not just a job for him, he was very passionate about sharing his love for the campground & making sure our visit was his top priority. Whatever takes you to MO…you will want to stay at Ballards & you may find yourself not wanting to leave the campground:) Thanks so much for the hospitality & see you again in 2027 🛣️ Marie & family of 2nd Chance & Broken Road Trucking LLC

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Ballard’s Campground! The park has clearly been beautifully restored and you can feel the care that went into every detail. The management is outstanding—friendly, professional, and always quick to communicate, which made our stay stress-free. The facilities are clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience. The location is perfect, offering both peace and accessibility. What started as a short visit quickly turned into a longer stay because we felt so welcome and at home here. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing, well-run campground. Great job to the management team for bringing this park back to life—you’ve created something special here! 💯

We were traveling thru, had an issue with some flat tires on our camper. We couldn’t go to the destination that we planned for the night! The very nice staff got us in here! It was clean. We may not have stayed long but we did think it was great for us! It will be in our list of places to go!

Nice, easy to access place for my 1 night stay when passing through. Everything worked as it should and my check in was easy peasy. Price was in line with what I expect for 1 night stays. The only downside for me is that with a 40' fifth wheel, the rear bumper scraped on the hill next to the office upon exiting. Not horribly, but if you can take a different route out I would advise you to do so.

This park is one of the most gorgeous I’ve ever seen. Fit with amazing amenities and beautiful spaces. It’s a joy to visit the cabins here or sit at the pond! The rv spaces are so nice and they do well at making you feel like you’re integrated with nature. Crosse Gregory - Operations Manager

We stayed at Ballard's Campground for one night while on a multi-state trip. We called the office to inform them that we would arrive late. We got clear instructions from Debbie on what to expect upon arrival. We were pleasantly surprised to see the spot we booked was so beautiful! It's right next to the pond, and we could hear the frogs and other nightlife making noises before we retired for the evening. We will have to come back when we can stay longer!

We stayed one night as we were passing through on our way from NM To IN. Ballard Park was very nice. Site are not huge but are easy to pull into. Electric worked great. We did not hook up water. Shower house was very nice and clean! Did not use laundry or dog washing station. Owner was very nice. Park is very well maintained, clean and quiet. Park is dog friendly. We have traveled full time in our 37’ fifth wheel for almost 2 years and we rate this park as a new favorite. Thank you for a great night’s stay.

I rented a space for five weeks at Ballards and it was a wonderful place to stay. It’s clean and organized and the Managers are great people, kind and very helpful. Even gave me some laundries detergent since I didn’t have any. All the services there are basically new and are perfect. You couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Short or long term.

I came to Ballards in October of 2021, expecting to stay for a month or two. I did not leave until March of 2022. Of all the parks I've visited in/near the Joplin/Carthage area, Ballards will be my choice whenever I come back through. Reasonable prices, convenient amenities, and the pond is a really nice touch. Staff has been above and beyond any problems have been minor (and to be expected in RV life) and were addressed very quickly. I had no problem with cell service (verizon) for both phone and dedicated internet/cell modem. Probably one of my favorite parts is the fact that they have not cut down all the trees like so many parks have just to squeeze in another customer or two. It was quiet and peaceful here the entire time I stayed. Jordan, who often is the first voice/face you'll interact with at the park, is a breath of fresh air in a region where the idea of customer service seems to be all but gone. They seem to be continually working on upgrades (perhaps to add additional services to some sites that are not yet full hookup??) and even have a few cabins available for rent. Super convenient location to both major interstates but far enough out of town I didn't worry too much about the riff-raff.
