Bay Shore Campground

Overview

Bay Shore Campground offers a serene escape on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, directly overlooking the expansive waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Established as a family-friendly destination, this park emphasizes the simple joys of coastal living. Here, the focus is on scenic waterfront views and the quiet rhythm of the tides, providing a peaceful environment for those looking to disconnect from the bustle of city life while enjoying a classic Maryland camping experience.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just a few miles south of the charming fishing village of Rock Hall, the campground sits on a high bank along the Chesapeake Bay shoreline. The surrounding landscape is defined by agricultural fields, tidal marshes, and the brackish waters of the bay. Its position on the western edge of the Delmarva Peninsula makes it a premier spot for witnessing spectacular bay sunsets that paint the sky in vibrant shades of orange and purple every evening.

Amenities & Park Features

The park provides a range of functional amenities designed to support a comfortable stay. Guests have access to sites equipped with water and electricity, including options for 30 and 50 amp service. On-site recreation is plentiful, featuring a large swimming pool, a playground for children, and courts for volleyball and basketball. A highlight for many visitors is the direct access for crabbing and fishing, allowing campers to catch their own Maryland blue crabs directly from the shoreline.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Exploring the local area reveals the rich maritime heritage of Kent County. A short drive leads to the Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge, a 4,000-acre island perfect for hiking and birdwatching. The nearby town of Rock Hall offers local seafood restaurants and marinas, while the historic streets of Chestertown are within reach for a day trip. Boating enthusiasts can take advantage of the local ramps to launch into the bay for a day of sailing or trophy fishing.

Who This Park Is Best For

This campground is an ideal fit for traditional RVers who appreciate a relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere over a high-intensity resort experience. It is particularly well-suited for families who enjoy outdoor activities like crabbing and swimming, as well as nature lovers looking to observe local wildlife. If you value a quiet waterfront setting and a community-oriented environment where the primary entertainment is the natural beauty of the Maryland coast, this park will feel like home.

The campground was nice, our spot was a premium water front spot with excellent views, but just as with every campground/ RV resort you have built in neighbors and on Saturday evening our neighbors had invited 50 of their closest friends for a party, instantly turned the place into a carnival scene..

Absolutely Gorgeous place to put your camper, right at the waters edge. Friendly staff and wonderful neighbors too. Peace and serene environment. Only draw back was there's no rest rooms/powder room to shower. They have placed portable potty around the camp. I will visit again, my babies loved the place...

Nice campground. There were a lot of nice spots, and lots of trees for shade. It was extremely quiet which was relaxing. We had a 30 second walk to the water for some fishing and bonding time with my son. Great view of the bay and a nice breeze. Night time was also extremely quiet with a great view of the stars. Trips to.town were quick or head south for more views and fishing. Everyone there was very friendly. We will definitely be returning.

We spent Friday through Sunday at bayshore and really enjoyed it. Very quiet and laid back. You have to be self contained which is no problem for us. Just a short drive to rock hall to visit shops, restaurants, farmers market etc. Will definitely be back! Thank you Bayshore!

The sites were very adequate for our needs for our time here. The staff is very attentive. It is in a great location and proximity to many of the areas in part of Maryland. There are no restrooms here so you need to be self contained. They are right on the water. Our site was about 80 yards from the water. We will be back in the future.

We loved our stay at this campground! We have never encountered a more pleasant staff, they really went above and beyond and were so kind and personable! The location and views were beautiful, the grounds are immaculate and lots of care and thought went into the layout and landscaping making for pleasant daily walks around the campground. We appreciated the spacious sites and access to water and electricity. There are also some scenic boardwalk trails near the water and we spotted some bald eagles! The small town down the road also had some good eats and necessities like gas, groceries, and hardware store. We hope to be back!

Very nice campground with two exceptions: no sewer hookup and no bathhouses. This would be a dealbreaker for most people. One or the other would make it tolerable for a family. Thankfully it was only myself and my husband. Although we really like Bayshore, a few days with “military” showers is enough. They did have a band on Saturday night for Labor Day weekend and a cornhole tournament on Sunday afternoon which was a lot of fun! Beautiful, picturesque setting with gorgeous sunsets. Most sites are partially shaded and allow plenty of room. They have an overflow area for your boat or additional cars/trailers. Owners are very nice and always willing to help.

Pretty phenomenal little campground with a million dollar view! We toured this facility to potentially become seasonal campers. We were not sure about a few things, but stopped by while down in the area to check the vibe and we are glad we did! The view bar none makes this place special! It is a smaller campground with not a ton of shade, but just enough. It is full of newer campers and appears to be meticulously cared for from what we saw. The view itself “chef kiss” is what makes this place stand out for sure!!! We met with a young man that was very accommodating and polite that gave us the run down. He really just sealed the deal on giving that great vibe of this place for us.

We enjoyed our quiet camping experience. Although the campground does not have a lot of amenities or activities for young children and the playground is small and outdated, it was still a relaxing and nice experience. The extra entertainment was not a priority for our family. We like the beach access and the fishing ponds, and seeing the birds. I am an amateur fisherwoman and caught a big catfish within minutes. All the visitors or long term campers were friendly , and every one waved as they drove by in their vehicles or golf carts. We would like to camp there again.
