The guy at the front gate should not be dealing with people. My family and I were walking back from our morning walk to the beach and used our VIP gate pass to scan in. He rudely ran over to us once we had entered and said we were required to show our ID upon entrance and scolded us that we would not be allowed to enter the park without it. Yet the person ahead of us who drove through using their gate pass was not stopped. If this is the policy then it should be posted at the gate and should be applied equitably to pedestrians and motorists alike. Additionally we sometimes will enter through the back gate at the general store and there is nobody stopping to check our ID's there. What is the purpose of purchasing a VIP gate pass if we still have to stop at the front desk to show our ID each time?

This is an RV Park. Very expensive for unmaintained dirt roads and no patios. The only amenities were a pool and hot tub which we didnt use. Victor, the gate guard, was very rude. Not good considering he's the first face you see upon entering. We did have a great time visiting our friends there.

I should have asked to be moved to a different spot. The spot was uneven and we could not get our RV level. The pool area looks very nice, as does the clubhouse. The surrounding area is Birch Bay, a quaint little beach town. There is also a state park with plenty of parking and boat ramps. This is an RV Resort, not a motel. Questions about rooms do not apply.

The lady on the phone was great. Our friends called later and were told they couldn’t be near us even though those sites were empty all weekend! The man at the front gate was so rude, if I weren’t a member I wouldn’t be back, same goes for my non member friends!

We had a great experience with the staff at Sun Retreats — they were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I made a last-minute reservation for a tent site and later needed to rebook it. The process was easy and hassle-free, and we were able to move our stay to the 4th of July weekend. The tent sites themselves were very clean, well-kept, and conveniently located near the dog park and restrooms. The bathrooms were also clean and well-maintained, which we really appreciated. That said, we ended up leaving a day early. The fireworks went on until about 1:30 AM, and unfortunately, there was a baby at the neighboring site who cried for over an hour after that. Needless to say, we didn’t get much sleep and spent the next day feeling exhausted and grumpy. While the noise wasn’t something the campground could control, we’ve learned our lesson — we’ll avoid booking here over the 4th of July weekend in the future. Overall, it's a great spot for families, just not ideal for light sleepers or those without earplugs during holiday weekends.

Nice place. They need more 50 amp spots. B 165 Needs to have trees trimmed. No sun in this area some of the roads have big big holes that need to be fixed. Little grocery store Is a neat place.

I love this place!! I have been coming here since I was a kid. I have wonderful memories of riding bikes through the park with my cousins and going to the store for ice cream and other treats. Don't let that little store fool you though - I swear they have always had everything we needed no matter how random! I am happy to see the new owners of Beachwood are putting money into it though as it needs it. I can't wait to see the pools all done and the rest of the upgrades to come.

🚫 Founder Lots becoming a “Residential Trailer Park” 🚫 Many people live “permanently Full Time” on the Founder Recreational Lots Not good, no Enforcement Action whatsoever over many years. Drive through Founder Section...you can definitely see for yourself. Maybe we all should move in permanently....why not. Sun RV Resorts Beachwood could Risk Losing “Recreational” Status, Gaining “Residential Trailer Park” Status Clearly that would be a huge Tax burden $$$ for Land owner, not the Residents. Surely Wa. State Attorney General could help & assist in enforcing compliance, This issue has fallen on Deaf ears with the previous land owner. It’s watch n see time....if diligent enforcement will be carried out by the new owner. Members have heard so many times “no permanent residents allowed” yet it continues. To maintain Recreational Status - Each Founder by State Law, cannot Exceed 180 day stay in a calendar year. Understood, But where is the enforcement.... The Gate Card shows in / outs, for founders, the electricity use is a big clue, Some Full timers have been there soooo long there Contract gives Free Electricity, so have gone & installed out door hot tubs even 2 freezers..... Security daily drive throughs sees who the Full Time Live in’s are.... Every night of the year same cars, lights on, tv on... Let’s hope new owner complies with aggressive enforcement of the unfortunate load they inherited. Wishing Sun RV best of luck, and a prosperous future ahead.

We've been coming here for years and overall it's been a friendly, safe & clean place. The new owners have made some negative changes to the property. They are removing the individual water spouts forcings 2 sites to share water (think low water pressure and bring a splitter?). The worst change is that they no longer have security at night! This is no longer a secured park. Buyer beware!
