We stayed here in August. We followed our GPS straight into the middle of town and right to the campground. Check-in at the office was quick, and we pulled into Pull-through Site 43 with FHUs (30 AMP). The campground was essentially a large gravel parking lot with sparse patches of grass and weeds between a mix of pull-through and back-in sites. While the sites were very close together, the spectacular mountain views in every direction made this CG special. The utilities were well placed in the center of the long pad, allowing us to drop the patio on our 40’ toy hauler and still park our F450. Water pressure was steady at about 50 PSI, and each site had a small picnic table. Connectivity was mixed: 4 bars on Verizon extended network, 3 bars on T-Mobile (sometimes workable), and above-average campground WiFi. With no trees on-site, Starlink had a clear shot from the roof, though placing it on the ground wasn’t practical with other rigs and vehicles moving about. The domestic rabbits that roam all over Valdez were an unexpected and fun addition to our stay. We usually don’t choose in-town campgrounds, but Bear Paw worked well for us. Its location made it easy to explore everything Valdez had to offer, and the surrounding mountain views made the close sites and gravel lot worthwhile.

Clean, sites level, water, sewer and electric on site and convient. Laundry and showers are very good. 2 minutes walk to fishing docks. Safeway grocery store 2 blocks behind the park. Very walkable.

This FHU RV park is right in the middle of Valdez, making most everywhere walkable. I thought that would make it noisy but it’s not at all! The bathrooms and showers are dated but very clean, free (we’ve seen so many charge for showers in Alaska) and unlimited (another thing we’ve seen in Alaska.) The laundry facility is very clean and large, with 8 washers and 6 dryers. $3 token to wash for 25 minutes and $3 token for thirty minutes of dry time. The sites are close and it is a gravel parking lot, typical for many in-town rv parks in Alaska. The staff are friendly and helpful and it is well-maintained. Your money is well-spent at Bear Paw.

Couldn't have asked for a perfect location to enjoy our RV staycation at Bear Paw RV Park in Valdez! So close to the marina docks & restaurants. We especially enjoyed our daily strolls on the boardwalk with our PAWkids! There is nothing greater than to be enveloped & wrapped with mountains all around us! 🏞🏔🐾🌲⚓️🛥⛴️🫎🐻🦦🦅🐇

Bear Paw RV Park is located in a good area. They were very very nice. The bathroom were older but decent and had amazing water pressure. (I wish their shower curtains were cleaner.) They had full hookups, level lots, and easy to navigate through the parks. It was a no frills RV Park but I would return.

We came to Valdez to do our annual halibut fishing, but the seas were too rough to go out, so we left a day early. Bear paw refunded me for the day we missed, which I wasn’t expecting, but it was sure nice of them to do so. Hopefully next year we will have better weather.

We stayed at the Adult park. It was right on the harbor with great views of the boats coming and going. Clean facilities, nice showers, laundry and bathrooms. Only down side was it is tight, if like us you are pulling a long trailer, have your backing up practice in.
