Beaver Lake - COE/Dam Site Lake Campground
Overview
Dam Site Lake Campground offers a stunning escape on the shores of Beaver Lake in the breathtaking Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this park is renowned for its dramatic limestone bluffs and crystal-clear turquoise waters. It serves as a primary gateway for water enthusiasts looking to explore one of the region's premier recreational lakes while staying in a natural, serene environment that prioritizes the beauty of the outdoors.
Location & Surroundings
Situated just a short drive from the eclectic and historic town of Eureka Springs, the park occupies a prime spot near the massive Beaver Lake Dam. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rugged, rolling hills and dense hardwood forests that provide ample shade and privacy for campers. Because the campground is positioned on a scenic peninsula, many sites offer unobstructed lake views, creating a tranquil atmosphere where the gentle sound of the water and the sight of local wildlife are always present.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility provides a variety of campsites, including many with 50-amp electric hookups to accommodate modern RVs. Guests have access to multiple well-maintained boat ramps, making it incredibly easy to launch for a day of trout fishing, water skiing, or peaceful paddling. The campground also includes essential comforts such as pressurized water, clean restrooms, and hot showers. Families often appreciate the designated swimming beach area and the centrally located playground facilities that keep children entertained.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor recreation is the primary draw here, with world-class trout fishing available just below the dam in the cold waters of the White River. For those who want to venture off-site, the winding, historic streets of downtown Eureka Springs are less than 15 minutes away, offering unique art galleries and local dining. Visitors should also make time to explore the Thorncrown Chapel, a stunning architectural marvel made of glass, or hike the scenic trails that wind through the surrounding Ozark National Forest.
Who This Park Is Best For
This destination is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and anglers who prioritize natural beauty and direct water access over the commercial feel of a luxury resort. It is a fantastic choice for families looking for a classic camping experience where they can swim, boat, and hike throughout their stay. If you appreciate scenic waterfront sunsets and easy access to both mountain adventures and historical sightseeing, this COE park is an excellent fit for your next Arkansas road trip.

View was amazing! Worth visiting. November with 80° weather was perfect day!

Really cool view of the beaver park dam that you can watch them let run off shoot out into the white river from this vantage point. There are public restrooms, some informative panels on the creation of the dam and some small trails in the area as well. Really neat spot to come and check out

The guy running the kiosk at the island was kind of a power trip tried to act like sheriff or something 😂 if your not paying or camping acted like he owned the lake but other than that it was a good experience and wonderful place to hangout it does cost 5 bucks to park for the day and hangout but we had a fun day and we'll worth it !

In addition to the small island with steps down to the water and a roped in beach swimming area although there is no real beach sand. There are dozens of tables lined up along the water for picnics 🧺 It is a nice refreshing area. The water is much warmer than the river on the other side of the dam. I saw lots of people swimming from many different access points. 🏊🏻♂️ I also saw some scuba divers!🤿

I visited Beaver Dam over the weekend, and it was such a refreshing escape into nature! The views were absolutely beautiful — serene water, lush greenery, and peaceful surroundings made it perfect for a relaxing day. Whether you’re into hiking, fishing, or just unwinding by the water, this spot has something for everyone. It wasn’t too crowded, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend for a quiet weekend trip!
