The managers, Austin and Kimberly with their kids, give this place a true hometown Indiana feel. There are usually vacant spots, making it a great weekend or seasonal stop. A library and second beach sit across the lake, and despite what feels to be a wooded lots on a lake, Kendallville shopping is close by. Unlike many packed campgrounds, this is an easy stopover while traveling the USA. —Andy Lee Graham, World Traveler (115 countries)

What a gem of a campground. The lot was large and well kept. The people running the office were very friendly and one of their son's dropped off some firewood to us no charge. Even though it was a mistake it was appreciated and we bought more so we could have a fire both nights of our stay. The lake is clean and clear. The jiki g trails seem well kept. We were here for my significant other's school reunion and camping within two miles of the event was just great. The campground was quiet and everyone was very friendly. If you are planning a trip to the Kendallville area, consider staying at Bixler Lake campground. I'm glad we did.

Stayed for a week and will return when we are in area again. Nice large campsites on grass. Some water/electric hook-ups, primitive, and just electric. Park was well maintained.

Went camping this past July 4th from Sunday to Sunday, we had lots of space, the family running the place are so nice and there to help or answer any questions. The bathrooms and showers were clean and stocked. The beaches were nice, no geese poop, they playgrounds were well keepers up and very nice! Fireworks were amazing and the campsites were nice and very roomy. We will be back next year!

So impressed with this campground/ park. They have disc golf, archery, and you can even rent kayaks here! There, is an abundence of wildlife to enjoy as well! The campground is always clean, as well as the bathrooms, and showers! The couple, that run the park are fantastic! Alway's have been super kind, and very helpfull. I actually would give 10 stars, if possible. Highly recommend!

We stayed 3 nights first off the campsites are labeled wrong at least at the site we were at and they had us repack up and move 3 times the 3rd time we went and had them show us where they wanted us. The second night there was people who took the spot right infront of us they were like a less then a foot infront of us with 5 tents packed in one area and one tent they put right behind where we were sitting. The third night they wanted to complain about our dogs barking when we put up a tarp on the second night to block the dogs views and there kids were constantly teasing the dogs peeking around the tarp and there kids were throwing a baseball right beside our cars and we asked multiple times for them to go play in the empty field or baseball area parents would not make them listen then there kids were left unsupervised at 11pm while parents went to bed so they were being loud during quiet hours. We use to go to this campground when the older guy ran it and had 0 issues with him so we will not be back.

Great little getaway in Kendalville right on Bixler Lake. Lots of activities for kids and adults to do, like disc golf, kayaking (kayaks can be rented for a small fee) trails to hike for ride bikes, couple of playground sets and two beaches to swim at, plus an archery range and a baseball field. Bathhouse/restrooms are clean with good water pressure! We enjoyed our extended weekend getaway. Will be back soon!
