Bluewater Key RV Resort
Overview
Bluewater Key RV Resort offers a distinctive luxury experience that sets it apart from traditional Florida campgrounds. Located just north of Key West, this destination features privately owned lots available for rent, providing a unique sense of privacy and upscale living. The resort is renowned for its tropical landscaping and meticulously maintained grounds, creating a serene environment where travelers can enjoy a high-end island lifestyle directly from their motorhome. It is widely considered one of the premier luxury RV destinations in the United States.
Location & Surroundings
Situated at Mile Marker 14.5, the resort provides a peaceful escape from the bustling downtown area while remaining close to the action. The surroundings are characterized by the stunning turquoise waters of the Florida Keys and lush greenery. Guests often enjoy the private dockage available at many sites, allowing for immediate access to the Gulf or the Atlantic. The location strikes a perfect balance between a secluded sanctuary and a convenient base for exploring the lower keys and the surrounding marine environment.
Amenities & Park Features
The amenities at this resort prioritize comfort and elegance. Most sites feature a private tiki hut, which are often equipped with comfortable seating and outdoor kitchens, effectively extending the living space outdoors. The park includes a temperature-controlled freshwater pool, a dog park, and clean laundry facilities. Because each lot is individually owned, the decor and features vary, but many offer bay-front views or direct canal access, ensuring a premium stay for every visitor who appreciates high-quality infrastructure.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
While the resort itself is a destination, its proximity to Key West opens a world of adventure. Travelers can head south to experience the historic charm of the Ernest Hemingway Home or catch a sunset celebration at Mallory Square. For those seeking outdoor activity, the area is a premier spot for snorkeling, world-class fishing, and kayaking through the local mangroves. Exploring the vibrant shops and restaurants of Duval Street is a must for any visitor to the region, providing a lively contrast to the quiet resort atmosphere.
Who This Park Is Best For
This resort is ideal for travelers seeking a luxury RV experience rather than a rustic camping trip. It caters perfectly to couples and retirees who appreciate privacy, quiet evenings, and high-end amenities. Because of its large, well-spaced lots and upscale infrastructure, it is also a top choice for big-rig owners looking for a stable, comfortable base to enjoy the Florida Keys for an extended seasonal stay or a high-end tropical getaway.

Site #67 is not what was advertised. We booked for two weeks and got a site where the refrigerator, TV, fans, and outlets didn’t work—only the lights did. The office tried to help, but the “fixes” were unacceptable: a mini fridge on an extension cord, a small countertop TV, a loud box fan and promises of repairs that never happened. A new fridge arrived but sat uninstalled for over a week. The electrician never came. The new TVs were never installed. When we asked for another site, we were only offered a downgrade. The view and lanai are nice, but that’s where it ends. Maintenance is poor, promises go unfulfilled, and cleanliness is an issue—dog waste was left in our friends’ lanai and on the roads for days. Site #67 is a misrepresentation, and we cannot recommend it.

We stayed here a week and loved every second of our stay! We will be back. The chiller in the pool was so great and felt refreshing from heat. We stayed in 73 and wish the owners 5th wheel didn’t block our view but that was the only negative. We loved the dock and watching the fish and paddle boarding. Just amazing!

We really enjoyed our stay at this RV park. It’s a very quiet and peaceful place — perfect for relaxing and taking a break. The location is excellent, close to everything you might need. The pool and clubhouse were spotless, very clean and well-maintained. We stayed at site #30 and it was very comfortable — spacious, level, and easy to set up. The only downside is that there were quite a few mosquitoes during our stay. We came prepared, so it wasn’t a big issue for us, but I’d recommend bringing mosquito repellent if you’re visiting during the summer months. Overall, it’s a great spot — clean, safe, and with a very pleasant atmosphere. We would definitely come back.

The most gorgeous RV park I have ever seen. We stayed for a week and absolutely enjoy the scenery of the resort. It made you feel like you were on a private island. Unbelievably clean, super nice and friendly staff. Dog park was always nice and clean! We can’t wait to go back!

Amazing place. Loved every minute we spent there and didn't want to leave. Absolutely loved the covered patio. We spend every night outside watching TV and enjoying ourselves. Pool was very relaxing.

This resort was quiet, relaxing and provided all the promised amenities. The location was great for visiting the keys. Each site is different, so you need to read the descriptions to know what you are getting. The only drawback is that ocean access is very limited. The staff is excellent. Denise in the front office went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could be. She is was so helpful and kind!

If you can’t afford it then start saving now. The resort was our vacation! Worth every Benjamin!!! Spot 41 is the absolute crème de la crème!! It was our first time coming to key west and since we aren’t the party type we wanted somewhere we could enjoy the scenery and relax and Blue Water key it’s it all. We can’t wait to go back just as soon as we hit the lotto.

We recently stayed at Bluewater Key RV Resort (Jan 23-26, 2025) and were very disappointed with our experience due to poor communication about key amenities being unavailable. Upon check-in, we were informed that the pool was temporarily closed due to a leak but were reassured it would likely be fixed soon. Unfortunately, the pool remained closed for our entire stay, which was a major letdown as it was one of the main reasons we chose this resort—especially with two young kids looking forward to swimming. Additionally, the main area was being painted, which we weren’t informed about in advance. On Saturday, when the pool was still closed, we tried to use the game room, only to find it completely blocked off due to the painting. Had we known ahead of time that the pool would be closed for the entire stay and that painting would make other areas inaccessible, we would have chosen a different resort. The most frustrating part was the lack of transparency—staff repeatedly told us the pool was “being worked on,” only for us to later learn it wasn’t going to reopen before we left. The resort itself is beautiful, the tiki hut at our site was nice, and the staff was friendly, but our experience was overshadowed by these issues. When we reached out afterward to express our concerns, we were met with a generic apology and told no refund would be provided because the maintenance was “necessary.” I understand that maintenance happens, but when major amenities are unavailable, guests should be informed before arrival and given the option to adjust their plans. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and it significantly impacted our trip. If you’re considering staying here, I’d recommend calling ahead to confirm all amenities are available because the resort does not seem proactive about communicating disruptions.

They are running a bit fast and loose with the "resort" name. It's OK but very overpriced for the amenities. To elaborate: The small pool is nice and the club room is fantastic. The sites are large but very close together. However, in our opinion there needs to be a hot tub, pickleball courts, and daily events to get to know others. There isn't anything within walking distance and you hear quite a bit of road noise. Our site was blown off but the concrete was very dirty. We needed our rug we typically use on grass or dirt just to keep our feet clean. The 20-30 minute proximity to Key West meant we needed to drive anytime we wanted to leave the resort. And without a lot to do to keep us there we found ourselves leaving a lot.
