We had such a fun day out at Bones Kayak in Hurricane Mills! The crew there made it super easy for us to get set up, and the river was perfect for a relaxing float with plenty of laughs along the way. If you’re looking for something fun to do with family or friends, definitely check them out!

Low flow of water but didn't drag at all over Labor Day weekend. However, saw 3 huge Cottonmouth Snakes! Be careful!

Friendly staff that explained everything several times making us confident in our route. Speedy drop off time and an easy float with a few tricky areas for those that wanted to try. Very clean restrooms

Super fine and relaxing day kayaking (floating) down the Buffalo. Reservations are optimal, but not required. Only open on weekends. We did the 5mi tour which took us about 4 hours with several stops to have lunch and chill. Recommend.

Great facilities, clean bathrooms and an outdoor shower to clean off after a day on the river. Mr Bones goes above & beyond to assist in an enjoyable experience. We rented the deluxe kayaks for our older backs as it really made the float comfortable. The river is cold and the water flows steadily for an easy float. Camping was nice with such beautiful sunsets reflecting off the water. Thank you Mr & Mrs Bones for sharing your treasure with others.

Great service. Friendly family. Convenient to I-40. You can fill out all the paperwork online in advance making day-of logistics simple and easy. Shuttle drives you upstream and drops off at the edge of the water. There's a well-marked, can't-miss spot for disembarking the river. FWIW: There's a bit of a short, uphill hike from there back to the parking lot (but you leave your canoe/kayak at the shore). The river is fairly scenic (you do pass under the interstate at one point) and mostly lazy, but there are a handful of more technical spots where you'll want to pay close attention and communicate with your partner/group. Other outfitters/rivers in the area may offer better scenery and more adventurous water, but Bone's is an excellent option for a more laid-back float convenient to Nashville.

We absolutely loved this place. ❤ We have been to several canoe and kayak rental places. The staff was all very nice and friendly. The place was clean and taken care of. We had 20 in our group and it was no problem. We got there and in the water in no time. We will definitely go back.

This was our second year in a row to canoe here. We usually try to spend a day each summer canoeing with our son (now 13), and our experience last year was so above and beyond better than any we've had at other outfitters/rivers in TN that it was a no brainer to return here this year. It's so easy and clear to book online and sign the waiver in advance. Plenty of parking, clean bathrooms, and a quick check-in process make arrival swift. Our shuttle left promptly to make the short drive to put us in the water, and we had clear instructions and great tips on spots to watch out for. The river is beautiful - you truly feel disconnected from the world. We love stopping multiple times to swim, have lunch, etc. The owners and staff are so friendly and truly focused on each guest having a 5-star experience. We will definitely keep coming back!
