Nice place with a lot of amenities, but has some annoyances that I'll get to later. They are lenient with their checkout time if you need a later checkout and staff was very friendly. WI-FI was good for our phones, but I couldn't connect with my work laptop to save my life. I have an IT background and the problem is with their router's DHCP server. I had to hotspot my phone to work from my RV. Overall it was good value for the money and we'd stay here again. I removed a star because the place is VERY poorly laid out and because the pool hours are the most aggressive we've ever seen. This park might be the worst RV park design I've seen across 10 states over the last five years. It was an absolute nightmare to navigate with a bigger rig in the daylight and next to impossible at night. The signs actually make it worse and should be discarded. Plus, many of the trees are too low to allow access to the roads. I only saw one dumpster in the entire site. The pool closing at "dusk" was quite annoying and something we've never seen before. My kids went to go swim at 8p and we're denied access. I didn't believe them when they told me it was closed at that hour, but they were right!

Our three-day holiday at this hidden gem was an absolute delight. The cabins were not only spotlessly clean and wonderful to stay in, but the meticulously maintained grounds and the outstanding staff, who provided exceptional customer service, truly elevated our experience. The peaceful and tranquil atmosphere provided the perfect escape, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. We would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a quiet and relaxing getaway.

From start to finish, our student summer camp experience was absolutely incredible — and a huge part of that was thanks to Tony, the owner. From the very beginning of the planning process, Tony went above and beyond to make sure everything was smooth, clear, and easy. He was humble, kind, and treated us like family every step of the way. No matter how many questions I had (and I had a lot), Tony remained patient, informative, and incredibly helpful. There were even moments when I called back-to-back, and not once did he seem annoyed — instead, he continued to support us with a smile and a servant’s heart. The entire staff reflected the same warmth and professionalism. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and eager to help. It truly felt like a team that cared deeply about the people they serve. Thanks to Tony’s exceptional service and the wonderful atmosphere he and his team created, planning our student camp was not just stress-free — it was actually a joy. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

This past weekend our church held our first regional children’s camp at the Brookeland / Lake Sam Rayburn KOA Holiday. The experience was beyond our expectations! From the location to the cabins everything was so awesome and amazing! The scenery is beautiful and it’s so peaceful. The atmosphere was warm and graceful. The cabins were clean and on top of that they each had a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, stove, and a private bathroom and shower. They also have a store that has essentials that you need plus awesome souvenirs. The staff alone makes this place not 5 stars but 10 stars. The always helped with provided us with cleaning supplies, extra toilet paper and paper towel. They have a cart rental service and a place to get ice for coolers etc. I’d like to give a personal s/o to Mr. Tony, the campsite owner. This man goes above and beyond for his guest. Everything we needed he was quick to take care of it. Though he is the owner he’s there alongside the staff working diligently. He’s extremely humble and treated us as family. Highly recommend this campsite to everyone!! We will be back for sure!

Our church held a 4-day children's camp at the Brookeland / Lake Sam Rayburn KOA Holiday and had a fantastic experience! The location was perfect—peaceful and scenic, especially the cabins along the pond area where we stayed. The cabins were clean and comfortable, with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and private bathroom. You’ll need to bring your own sheets and pillow, but the mattresses were great. The 24-hour coin laundry was super convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful—special thanks to the front office ladies for the cleaning supplies and extra toilet paper. The camp store was well-stocked with essentials. If you need more items, there’s a Dollar General just five minutes away. Mr. Tony, the owner, was very responsive anytime we needed help—and his pizza is a must-try! Overall this campsite is a great place for group events or a family stay. Highly recommend!

We held our RV rally at Brookeland/Lake Sam Rayburn KOA. What a great experience! They rolled out the red carpet for us and everyone had a wonderful time! It was how camping should be. Beautiful scenery, campfires, fireflies and stars every night.

Service was good, but cabin was extremely small. I would have given 4 stars, but the cabin wasn’t really that great. Our fan/light would only work one way, we had to literally climb up on bunk to unscrew the light bulb at night to keep fan on, where we live, it’s humid, we’re use to having a fan going, even during cool nights, so the fact we had to take the light bulb out every night was aggravating. The cabin is approximately 10 wide by 12 long, there is no wall separating the toilet! When I first booked, I was under impression it had half bathroom, 1 full and bunk bed. I didn’t know it was that small. I’ve booked hotel rooms bigger than this for the same price. I was very disappointed. It was very unpleasant having a toilet at the foot of your child’s bottom bunk bed. The sink next to it, very crowed. Description of cabin was not at all described correctly. Cabin 7, if your one person, maybe, but definitely wouldn’t recommend for a family. No one likes a toilet open to the whole room, and especially at the foot of the bed, with no dividing wall.. the only reason I gave 3 stars, is because the clerks were very kind and welcoming.

This little hole in the wall KOA campgrounds is in the beautiful woods next to Lake Sam Rayburn and is very peaceful. You can hear the highway traffic but overall not so bad. My favorite part was the local ducks of course

Great place! Employees are great, friendly, and do their best to help you with your needs! Golf cart rental is a big bonus! Themed cabins and regular cabins, also tent camping, RV hook ups. 2 swimming pools, workout center. The longer you're there the more you learn what this park has to offer! It's great for any kind of groups. Only thing I'd suggest to make it better is marking the paths better on the trails.

We had such a great time here! The cabin was pristine and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting out by the fire looking out at the pond, and the three resident ducks were great company! I love that there is so much to do here, with two pools and canoe rentals. We also found the store well stocked for anything we needed during our stay. Highly recommend!
