I stayed in one of their two cabins. We arrived late so they made sure the porch light was on for us and checked on us in the morning. Very nice couple. Walked the property and it's very well maintained even though they've dealt with some flooding. It was a nice quiet weekend away.

If I could give this place negitive stars I would, me and my family stayed at a tent campsite for one night they put us in the overflow which was next to the dump facing a cornfield.when we first arrived and went to check in they charged us 10 dollars extra then we had previously discussed on the phone when I made the reservation. Also when we walked in to check in the lady who owns the place and her granddaughter had and attitude while looking us up and down in a snobby manner, which right away made me feel uncomfortable. Everything was going to say the least decently until the next day , when we let the kids who are 12 and 13 go over to the pool , well 15 minutes later the owner lady came over to us with the kids , right away had an attitude was snapping at us the the kids needed and adult , I thought my mother had went over there to sit with them and did not realize she had not gone over there , when I tried to explain this she cut me off in the middle of my explaining this and continued to snapped at me, after this my mother went back over there with the kids and as we were leaving I was going the posted speed limit and the owner lady proceeded to yell at me so loud half of the campground could hear to slow down even though we were going the speed limit. Over all a very upsetting and disappointing experience I will never go here again I just wanted to have a fun time with my family and it ended up being very frustrating and bad experience. Just no if you bring two tents they will charge you 75 dollars! If you have a family with little kids I don’t suggest you waste your money here!!!

Me and my 6 coworkers camped here and had a wonderful time. Beautiful natural space next to the river with lots of nice wildlife. Mary and marshall are very accommodating hosts and are always willing to help. The main office has hot showers and some convenience goods.we'll definitely be coming back.

This is the third time I have stayed here. My daughter and I came up for Christmas in July and it has been the best time. Very kid friendly and family oriented. We had so much fun decorating the camper and enjoyed seeing Santa and Mrs Claus pass out presents to all of the kids with the help of their elves There are lots of weekend activities including cinnamon rolls on Saturday mornings, train rides, wagon rides, Frisbee golf, 2 playgrounds, 2 pools, horseshoes, etc . We are looking forward to Halloween in August and have already booked for next year ! Mary and Marshall are the best!

Nice clean campground, super friendly staff! The staff were available when would be expected, always very courteous and pleasant. Campground has 2 parks, zero depth and regular pools. We stayed over 4th of July weekend and they had lots of fun activities including an ice cream social and live music. Our group rented some campers, they were in good shape and clean, A/C worked great too! Spots are big enough, nice fire rings.

We stayed at Brookside for the first time this weekend (June 2023). When we booked, the campground owners told us their “regular” spots were booked but we could book the 2 “overflow” spots. We were prepared to be stuck out in an open field far away from amenities, boy were we pleasantly surprised. The overflow spots look out into a wide open field and we had shade trees.. We had electricity and water hookups, and we were right by the pool, bathrooms, etc. We appreciated the honesty from the owners when we booked because they could easily just book into overflow spots and we wouldn’t have been the wiser. The campground itself is really gorgeous. Heavy tree cover, lots of green space. Quiet atmosphere and very friendly people. Backs up to a creek. Since the majority of the sites are seasonal, most people likely know each other well, but we still felt welcome and comfortable with lots of friendly waves. The amenities are some of the best I’ve seen. A large pool, a large kiddie pool, 2 big playgrounds, a little general store, and good Wifi! We didn’t use the bathrooms/showers or laundry but they are right next to the pool for easy access. Price is very reasonable for any campground, but for all the amenities, it’s a great deal. Our group was 4 adults, 2 campers and 3 dogs. We found it to be a great spot for us camping without kids, but it is clearly very family friendly. Activities for kids, ice cream, games and outdoor play equipment available in the main store area for guests to use. The absolute best part of the stay was the customer service from the owners. They walked us to our spots, made sure we were able to get our campers situated, and handed us 50 amp adapters to use while we were there. We really enjoyed meeting Marshall and Mary; their hard work and pride of ownership make Brookside the perfect getaway!

Such a gem of a campground, kids had an amazing time. We lucked out to show up on Halloween night, kids had a blast trick or treating. Playground was new and so close to the tent area. Tent spaces were a generous size. The only complaint is that tent area water is not easy access and there is no electric, but not enough of a complaint to knock down any stars.

Super friendly and helpful owners. Well run and the campground is well maintained. We stayed in a tent site for 3 nights during the week and it was so quiet there. The tent sites are huge, and there are only 4-5 of them so there are not a lot of neighbors. The pool is nice. The only negative I have is there is not a lot to do nearby. There are no hiking trails, or interesting things to explore. Otherwise we really liked it.
