A bit off the beaten path, Burr Oak State Park surrounds Burr Oak Lake in Morgan and Athens Counties. The Burr Oak Lodge is a Rustic style lodge and conference center that offers stunning views of the lake. The park offers everything for the outdoorsman including hiking, kayaking, paddling, fishing, swimming, hunting, picnicking and has a campground with tent and RV sites as well as cabins. The park has numerous hiking trails of various lengths and activity levels with some trails connecting to the Buckeye Trail. If you are looking for a quiet get away off the beaten path Burr Oak is a great place to visit.

We did 9 miles today, 12/8/25. Loved the trail.

Beautiful place to visit and go enjoy the beautiful weather the only thing I have to complain about is the grill's along the lake need to be replaced about to fall off while you try to cook on them and they need to open back up a place to buy a drink and popcorn hotdog like back in the 90's other than that it's a beautiful place been going there since I was just a young child

Nice State Park. The short drive from marina to the beach is one of the best 1/2 mile roads in the USA. Beautiful. The campground is small and moderately rustic. Lake views are obscured by trees, which is OK. The tent-only sites are fairly spacious and set apart from the noisy RVs.

We had a great long weekend at Burr Oak. Our cabin was very clean. We enjoyed the indoor pool at the lodge and our pontoon boat rental on the lake. The lake was peaceful . If we visit again we will be more prepared. We made a couple trips to the Kroger in Trimble. We were not aware of how remote the location was.. On our way there we lost Wifi and landed at boat dock 1.instead of the lodge due to my poor directional abilities

I've been camping here since 1983. I was much disappointed by the lack of grounds maintenance and the half-assed efforts of the bathroom cleaning crew this year. Not only were my 3 sites unmowed and ankle deep in clover flowers( I'm allergic to honey bees and they were on every 3rd flower) but 2 of my sites had ankle breaker holes caused by negligence. Being a veteran camper I of course used equipment to prevent the open pipes from being a hazard, but it could easily have caused an ER trip. I can remember when Ohio had the #1 State Park system in the country. It's a pity that is no longer a fact.

We camped here for the first time. Its a well cleaned and cared for camp ground. We arrived after the office was closed and went to check in the next day, office staff was out cleaning cabins but came as soon as they saw me. We will definitely come back just not with our big camper. The office staff was super friendly, probably the nicest we have had at a park and we camp a lot. 10/10 on everything. My only complaint is the pictures do not match the spot you're getting and the map is off. Its that way at a few parks we have been to.

We had our family reunion a few weeks back here at Burr Oak State park. I was set back at first but when I arrived I was very pleased with the grounds. Very clean and well taken care of. If you are looking for a nice family place to go. This is your place. Nice and peaceful. Definitely would recommend!

Loved going to the beach and swimming. Great area to kayak and fish. Campsites are kind of small but had a great time.

Burr Oak has been in my radar for quite some time. The experience easily lived up to my anticipation. The lake is gorgeous, the lakeside trail is ridiculous (20+ miles long), and the park has so much for so many people. Volleyball court, basketball court, disc golf, a swimming beach, nature center, camping, fishing, boating, and probably much more. The trails are rugged, giving them extra charm. I like this park.
