Small clean park great place to enjoy lone time or with family. Safe and easy access with restrooms. Small lake with fountain. Plenty of deer and squirrels around to each . . I noticed a lot of teenagers but. well behaved congregating around the lake just enjoying the outdoors with friends and tailgating , no alcohol present.

I will be honest and say that I was skeptical about this place after I booked it. Looking at a satellite shot of it does not do it justice! To my surprise, it is a very clean and quiet campsite/park. Slips 7, 8, and 9 butt up to a cow pasture which makes for a great country feel. There is great tree coverage for shade but still enough space for the sun to shine through. My two GSD’s loved walking through the trees and sniffing where deer and squirrels had wandered through, as well as barking at the cows. This park is just outside of town so you do not get all of the noise from traffic, which is great in and of itself! I do not recall hearing a single siren the four days that I was there. The campground is on a hillside but all of the slips are fairly level. They have free firewood for campers just outside the office which is awesome. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and I recommend it if you are trying to stay off of the beaten path.

Enjoyed staying there for 2 days. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain, but the other patrons were a great help. I would recommend and stay here again.

Very nice park.I didnt have time to go walk trails as i was just in town a short time for some business. It's nice to know there is another camping place in this area of Illinois along with Beall Woods. The big open area field on the western side would be good place for big wildflower/wildgrass plantings and more trees worked into the landscaping. Also wanted to note that its nice that there are toilet facilities available in winter, as some parks close down their restroom/lavatories after a certain date for winter.

Nice Family time with the dogs. We took our dogs out to Burrell's Woods for the afternoon. First we went on one of the walking trails. The Girls (our Dogs) Loved every minute we was there. I don't think they missed anything. Scooby was mainly strolling along with us, but Butterbean she was all over the place sniffing everything and anything. We got to the creek and of course we had to go down by the stream. Butterbean had so much fun playing in the water. She jumped around and played in the water, then she got the zomies acting like she just had a shot of caffeine. (Lol) We then walked around the campsite and the girls had to go up and tell people Hello. Then walked around the rest of the park. Butterbean was running up and down all the hills.(wish I had a quarter of the energy she has). It was a beautiful sunny afternoon. The park was really clean. We only found a few cups and plates laying around so we picked them up and threw it in the trash. On our way out we spotted the dog park. We didn't stop this time since there was a few dogs there already. We spotted the cows as we were leaving and Scooby started growing and barking because she wanted to get out and see them. So we sit in the truck a few minutes to let the girls watch the cows. It was a beautiful day and we plan to go back again real soon.

Park was nice with pavilions, picnic tables, etc. A road connects through the west field to the dog park now. The showers and restrooms are in the middle of the circle on the west end of the woodsy area, at the top of the hill. Men's side had 4 sinks, 4 showers, 2 stalls, and a urinal.

This is just a cabin to look at. No lodging. No eating. There is a shelter house within 50 yards of the cabin. You can grill food or pack a picnic. PLEASE do NOT break into the cabin!!!! My "trip" wasn't leisurely. I just wanted to take some nature picnic, and Burrells Woods is only a few miles out of town. Burrells Woods is a public park and campground

Best little spot to get away just outside of town. The City of Carmi parks division , works tirelessly to keep it clean! We have so many big shelter houses to accommodate your birthday parties, reunions, weddings, and just a little place to sit quietly and enjoy a picnic. The new nature walk is awesome! My granddaughter enjoyed the hands on exhibits. The playground at the camp ground is safe and clean as well. We love our little campground and park!!! PLEASE use the trashcans, and don't deface the property!!!
