Overview

Trailer Village RV Park stands out as the only in-park RV facility at the Grand Canyon South Rim that offers full hookup sites. Operated by a concessionaire within the National Park, it provides a unique opportunity to stay surrounded by pine and juniper woodlands. The setting is intentionally rustic, focusing on accessibility to the canyon rather than high-end resort amenities, making it a functional and highly sought-after base for travelers looking to maximize their time exploring the park grounds.

Location & Surroundings

Located directly within the Grand Canyon Village, this park offers an unbeatable location for those who want to avoid the daily commute from gateway towns. Guests are positioned within walking or biking distance of the main visitor centers, canyon rim trails, and historical landmarks. The high-altitude, forested environment provides a peaceful backdrop, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Arizona wilderness while remaining steps away from the iconic South Rim vistas.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed for convenience, featuring paved pull-through and back-in sites that can accommodate a variety of RV lengths and configurations. Each site is equipped with water, sewer, and electrical hookups, which is a rare and valuable feature for an in-park location. While the park is more utilitarian than a luxury campground, it provides essential services including laundry facilities and nearby access to the national park shuttle system, which makes navigating the surrounding village and rim viewpoints simple and efficient.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Staying at Trailer Village places you in the heart of the action. You are minutes away from the Mather Point overlook, where many visitors catch their first breathtaking glimpse of the gorge. Guests can easily access the Bright Angel Trailhead for challenging hikes or walk the flat, scenic Rim Trail. The nearby village offers access to historic lodges, art studios, and educational programs provided by park rangers, ensuring there is always something to discover within a short distance of your site.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for travelers who prioritize proximity and convenience over resort-style luxury. It is perfectly suited for active adventurers and families who want to be the first on the trails at sunrise or enjoy stargazing without driving home at night. If your goal is to experience the Grand Canyon without the logistical hassle of daily park entry, this location serves as a premier, practical hub for your Southwestern national park journey.

Very basic. gravel, minimal grass parking lot with flat sites. Located behind a grocery store. Run down picnic tables, no fire rings. Entrance to Grand Canyon National Park park very close

The location in town and close to the Grand Canyon keep this campground going. The quiet time of 10:00pm-8:00am doesn’t apply to the trash truck that came through and shook the 50 dumpsters like piñatas at 6:40am. The staff was friendly and allowed us to move from a lunar site to one that was partial gravel. We were not given a full hook up site even though several were open our entire stay. Not sure what the disconnect was with that. There was a payment issue that is in process of resolution. A general store and plenty of shops are within walking distance. There is a decent trail in the back of the park. We did enjoy the helicopters and airplanes flying by during the day. I would probably stay here again but would try to get inside the park.

Clean bathroom and shower area. Easy after hrs checkin. First night was loud with a group that came in. But nice and quiet after they left. Had some cute visitors to the campground.

This campground is best choice if you want the shops and the Canyon rim in walking distance. Nice trail in the shadow of trees to the rim.The full hook up site was very good and our RV was in the shadows of a tree. The sanitary facilities were under construction so we did not use them. Site Reservation is a must.
