Canyon Pines RV Resort
Overview
Canyon Pines RV Resort offers a serene escape nestled deep within the dramatic landscapes of central Idaho. Positioned along the banks of the Little Salmon River, this park serves as a gateway to the rugged beauty of the canyon country. Unlike larger, bustling resorts, Canyon Pines focuses on a peaceful environment where the sound of the rushing river provides the primary soundtrack. It provides a refined camping experience with manicured grounds that blend seamlessly into the wild, mountainous backdrop of the Pollock area.
Location & Surroundings
Situated just south of Riggins, the resort is located in a narrow canyon where the steep rock walls create a sense of seclusion and privacy. The property enjoys significant frontage on the Little Salmon River, allowing guests to walk right to the water's edge. The surrounding terrain is characterized by high desert hills and dense forests, offering a unique microclimate. The unobstructed views of the canyon cliffs provide a dramatic setting for morning coffee or evening sunsets.
Amenities & Park Features
The park is designed with modern conveniences to ensure a comfortable stay for both short-term travelers and long-term guests. Many of the sites are spacious pull-thrus that accommodate large rigs with ease, featuring level gravel pads and full hookup service including 30 and 50 amp power. Guests have access to exceptionally clean private bathrooms and laundry facilities, which are often cited as highlights of the resort. High-speed Wi-Fi helps travelers stay connected, while the pet-friendly grounds include space for walking dogs along the river path.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Adventure seekers will find plenty to do just minutes from the resort. The nearby town of Riggins is the whitewater capital of Idaho, offering world-class whitewater rafting and jet boating on the main Salmon River. Anglers visit the area for renowned steelhead and salmon fishing seasons. For those who prefer land-based exploration, the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area is easily accessible, providing opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and exploring North America's deepest river gorge.
Who This Park Is Best For
This resort is ideal for travelers who appreciate a quiet, well-organized environment without the distractions of a heavy activity schedule. It is a perfect fit for couples and retirees looking for a scenic home base while exploring the Salmon River corridor. Because of its big-rig friendly layout and reliable full hookups, it is also a top choice for full-time RVers passing through Idaho who prioritize cleanliness and natural beauty over communal pools or playground facilities.

We love staying here. The pride in ownership is shown throughout the resort. The grounds are well maintained, the restrooms are clean and the office is organized with a wide variety of food and supplies. If you're lucky and stay during summer, you can order a fresh cooked pizza delivered right to your site. Yum!

We are a group of 5 fisherman. We used Canyon Pines RV Resort as our basecamp and explored fishing over 8 days. Best fishing we found was on Hazard Lake from float tubes. Canyon Pines is great. The bathrooms are wonderful and the camp is amazingly well kept. The lawns are green and Jeff is great at keeping them all looking sharp. The camp store has a nice selection of things you might need. The camp is quiet and the stream next to camp is quite nice. We did laundry and the machines (2 washer and 2 dryer) were very nice and modern. The store sells small packets of detergent for $.80 each. We recommend!

Everything about Canyon Pines RV Resort was perfect! The moment we arrived, seeing the office and our site nestled by the river, the feeling was comfort. The staff was happy to answer questions, the grounds and flowers were maintained beautifully and the restrooms were very clean. Listening to the river was an excellent way to relax and the location is easy to find.

The person at the desk was really friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are great! Clean and setup nicely for showers. The shower floor has that plastic mat that is great for draining but bring shower shoes or flip flops. We had a great location we could walk to the river and we it was level. We had electric and water.

Planned on a couple nights stay but wound up staying 5! We enjoyed it so much as not only was everyone friendly and helpful but the grounds are very nice, clean, maintained and everything worked very well. Hook-up wise; our site was water and power, no dump but there is a nice easy access dump station in the park. I believe most sites are FHU. We relaxed here but also took the time to explore the area. Highly recommend, would stay again!

Our stay at Canyon Pines RV resort has been amazing. First off the place is immaculate. The owner takes great pride in his property. Everyone is super nice. The landscaping is meticulously maintained. The Salmon River runs next to our site. The sound of the water is so relaxing. We had dinner in town ( only 9 miles away) at Seven Devils bar and Steakhouse. It was so good. The property has a well stocked office/store that has snacks and gifts, and Ice cream , beer and Wine. The showers and laundry were very Clean. Nice play area for the kids. We stayed 2 weeks and enjoyed every moment. We will definitely be back.

This is a terrific RV park along the Little Salmon River. Several sites back up to the river, but were a bit too short for us. We were very happy with our pull through site just across the road facing the river where we could hear the rushing water at night. Tho owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The park store is well stocked. Riggins is a 10 minute drive for groceries and McCall is 40 minutes away if you want to swim in the lake or wander around a larger town. Will definitely stay here again.

Really nice park along the Little Salmon River. Close enough to explore Riggins but far enough you are out of the crowd. Sites are really nice gravel with a table and fire pit. Our site was along the river so you could hear the rushing water at night. There are a few permanent residents but their spots were clean and tidy. The owners are great! A nice little store and propane is available at a reasonable price.

Canyon Pines is a great RV park! Great location along the Little Salmon River. The location is off the beaten track and off by itself, which we enjoyed, but close enough to town. We had a lovely back-in site right next to the river. Also good bank fishing access for those into fishing. Clean and well maintained and the staff friendly and welcoming. We only stayed one night but will come back again for a longer stay. One caveat - very poor cell phone service - as you might expect at this location. Wifi is fine.
