Small tent riverside site - Site TF. Stayed for a few nights in late September. Check-in was very smooth and the campground overall was beautiful and well maintained. The showers were exceptionally clean, and we really appreciated the thoughtful amenities like the outdoor dishwashing sink near the bathrooms. Trash cans were conveniently placed and never overfilled, and the surrounding scenery - the river, trees, and fall colors - made for a gorgeous stay. Our only complaint was with Site TF itself. There was a noticeable mound or small hill in the middle of the campsite, which made it tricky to set up our tents and caused the fire pit to sit at an awkward angle. The ground was also quite rocky and not very level. We did, however, appreciate that the site felt a bit more private and tucked away from the rest of the campground - the seclusion was definitely a nice bonus. Aside from that, everything else about the campground was fantas We'd definitely stay again, just at a different site next time.

Nice tent spots next to the river, sites are a bit smaller than in most accompanying BLM campgrounds. Very kind and welcoming hosts, common space is available until 7PM. Fresh coffee in the morning. Clean showers and toilets.

My family of six spent three nights here and I cannot recommend it enough. The teepee was so comfortable - equipped with a queen bed, 2 twin mattresses and a double bed sized futon, 2 box fans and a power strip. It's conveniently located near the very clean bathroom facilities. There was road noise but that didn't bother us too much - we'd definitely stay there again. We used the KOA as a home base - and visited Marble and the Penny Hot Springs, Aspen and the Maroon Bells. It was perfect for us. The camp host was so helpful. Highly recommend!!

This is a is the perfect spot. Next time the river such a cozy well maintained location. Close to penny hot springs. The host was super nice and a huge shout out to Cody for the ice cream recommendation at the redstone general store. Huckleberry ice cream, the river, Mt. Sopris. Thanks for the memories.

Our stay was absolutely incredible! The cabin exceeded every expectation—it was cozy, well-appointed, and exactly what we were hoping for. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, and having the river just steps from our door made the whole experience feel like a peaceful escape. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the facilities were spotless and well-maintained. I would highly recommend this KOA to anyone looking for a relaxing, nature-filled getaway. A 10/10 experience—we'll definitely be back!

Koa review My family has been meeting at this gem of a campground for years. We loved the cozy cabins, the river side tent sites, the amenities for kids of all ages. This new management, however, has forbidden us to meet as a family due to their recent limiting of sites, despite KOA’s claim to host family gatherings. Even though we emailed respectfully in January requesting an allowance of one extra site, this new manager instead cancelled ALL our sites in April citing us as too large a group. Now, we can’t find another venue for our family to meet this summer due to her lack of courtesy and inability to efficiently answer emails. In addition, she claimed one of us had smoked in a cabin, which we would never do, as well as other outrageous claims against us. We have always respected and revered this park. It makes me sad to see the park run down by unfriendly and vindictive management/owner like Erin Neilsen as this was truly a perfect spot. Not anymore.

Tent camped here for 3 nights. The KOA has great amenities as well as great views nestled between two cliffs or mountains. It has clean bathrooms and showers, laundry room, rec room in store, pool, and a nice sitting area by the store. Crystal River runs alongside the campground. I would stay here again even though the last night we stayed we had rude neighbors that came in late. They were loud and not only slammed their vehicle doors multiple times but had a loud conversation for the entire campground to hear at 11 or so at night. Campers just need to remember there are other campers too trying to enjoy their camping experience. Everyone just needs to remember to be respectful.

Awesome place right at the river. There was an extraordinary nice and friendly young woman at the counter who picked the perfect RV-site for us. Bathrooms are clean, sites large enough and just a short drive to Carbondale. For us the perfect place to be if you're looking for a serviced campground.

Nice large level sites in a wooded setting. Friendly host. Good WiFi. No Verizon cell service. Don't know about others. Sites have electric and water but no sewer hookup. Dump station is available. Campground is next to the Crystal River.

The reason for my 3 star is there is NO SEWER at any of the sites. I absolutely should have paid more attention when booking but as a KOA Holiday averaging about $68 a night I just expected when I booked that a full hook up included sewer. You can get a pump out for $10 at anytime. We were told because we were there for 12 days we get two free pump outs. We paid for one, got a free one then when we asked about the second free one we were told that she gave us incorrect information and we’d have to pay for any additional pump outs which we did. The park is well kept, the workers are nice and the river is pretty but I wouldn’t have stayed 12 nights without sewer had I known. There is also quite a bit of road noise if that bothers you.
