We arrived and felt immediately unsafe. The campgrounds are stacked on top of one another so there’s no privacy. But more than that, it looked like all the other campers were more like squatters. The gate attendant told us when we checked in to not share the bathroom code with anyone because they could be homeless and use the bathrooms for nefarious things. While I appreciate the warning, but that paired with what we saw, we immediately drove off to find somewhere else.

Absolute great camping experience great price per night. Fishing the Kenai River produced an abundance of world famous sockeye salmon.

This campground is in a great location, but the management is terrible. The bathrooms, in particular, are horrible. There are no hooks to hang clothes, and not even a single shelf inside the shower booths to place soap or toiletries. The shower curtains are in terrible condition. It’s quite shocking that a city-managed facility is left in such poor shape. If the bathrooms were significantly improved, I believe many more people would be willing to come.

No hook up camping (dry camping) in a seaside spot for $30 per night. Lots of traffic going by out to the spit. Feels like the city could spend some of this money to grade the entry and put down some gravel. Major potholes driving in and ponds in the campsites after the rain. Lovely views, beach walking, Tsumami drill from a nearby earthquake! Self pay and no sign of the host particularly.

Campground looks nice and host friendly. It seems some guests stay life their and are not really camping. Lot of cars till late night that drive around the campground. Not sure why. Lot of homeless people walking around. I did not feel safe. Noise from highway is substantial and restroom/shower look real old.

Sites were level, our sites 30 amp outlet wasnt working. A Very nice 24 hour security person checked us in. Restrooms were old and showers didn't have a welcome feeling at all. Location in Anchorage was good.

Campsite was very convenient for us as a location to Anchorage, staff was very friendly and helpful, security 24/7 was very reassuring to our safety expectations. There are alot of Transients homeless that come and go in the area so does a momma bear and her two cubs so secure everything, especially at night. Even with these guidelines I would have no problem staying here again. There is only electric hookups and no water or sewage hookups!

STAY AWAY! We had a dreadful experience at this campground. The facilities were appalling; the toilets were filthy, and there were old needles strewn about the site, which is incredibly unsafe, especially for families with children. The presence of homeless people wandering around made us feel uneasy, and some even ventured into the campground to use the facilities. During our stay, we encountered a distressing incident where a homeless woman got naked and exposed herself in full view. It's unacceptable that the campground allowed such behavior to occur, further highlighting the lack of security and management oversight. Despite booking for three nights, we left after two. When we tried to contact the office to request a refund for the last night, we were met with silence. The third-party security personnel seemed clueless about handling any issues. Overall, it was a disappointing and unsanitary experience that I would not recommend to anyone. The decision to allow homeless individuals to stay on site should be posted on the website or in the office. Felt unsafe the whole stay!

Great outdoors within city. Great campgrounds with both rv and tent areas. The trails provide a nature walk to n nearby amenities. Friendly staff very up front and courtesy made for our wonderful stay

The campground setting was fine, but the bathroom facilities were awful. We have camped for over 20 years and this is one of the worst bathrooms I have ever been in. My teenage granddaughter said it looked liked a prison. I thought she was exaggerating....she wasn't!!!! I made my husband escort me to the bathroom and wait for me because it was so awful. Definitely find another campground for the night. I agree with others that the "vibe" here was very sketchy.
