Centennial RV Park & Campground

Overview

Centennial RV Park & Campground offers a peaceful retreat nestled in the scenic Uncompahgre Valley of Western Colorado. This family-owned park provides a welcoming atmosphere for travelers looking to explore the rugged beauty of the San Juan Mountains. Unlike busy roadside stops, it emphasizes a quiet, relaxed environment where guests can unwind and enjoy the expansive high-desert horizon after a day of driving or hiking.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just south of Montrose, the park provides a strategic location for exploring the region while maintaining a sense of rural tranquility. Guests are treated to panoramic views of the San Juan Mountains to the south and the Uncompahgre Plateau to the west. Its position away from the main highway noise ensures a restful night’s sleep, yet it remains close enough to downtown Montrose for convenient access to grocery stores and local dining.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is well-equipped to handle various rig sizes with level gravel pads and wide interior roads. Most sites offer full hookups including 30 and 50-amp electricity, water, and sewer. Travelers can stay connected with the provided Wi-Fi or refresh themselves in the highly-rated, clean restroom and shower facilities. Additional conveniences include on-site laundry, a playground for children, and designated areas for pets to stretch their legs.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

This campground serves as the perfect jumping-off point for visiting Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, located just a short drive away. Outdoor enthusiasts can head south to the historic town of Ouray for hot springs soaking or continue to Silverton for high-altitude Jeep tours. Local reservoirs and the Uncompahgre River provide excellent opportunities for fly fishing and boating, making the area a paradise for nature lovers.

Who This Park Is Best For

Centennial RV Park is an ideal choice for active retirees and families who prefer a tidy, well-managed home base over a crowded resort experience. It is particularly suited for big-rig owners who appreciate easy maneuvering and those seeking a multi-day stay to thoroughly explore the Western Slope of Colorado. This continues to be home. We adore Shae! Charlie, the ground keeper has this place looking wonderful and clean. He know how to maintain the beautiful surroundings. We will always love this park. To watch the seasons change is God's tapestry. Thank you for making our stay so blessed!

Very clean and well maintained RV. Sites are good size and can accommodate big rigs. They were very helpful when we had some mechanical issues and had to extend our stay by a couple of days. Highly recommend a stay here if in the area.

Great place that's in between for an overnight or two. We were on our way from Silt, CO to Mesa Verde and Centennial was our choice for an RV overnight. Staff was terrific--welcoming with knowledge about the park, RVs, and the surrounding area. Park is clean and VERY well kept--you can tell they work hard at it. I'd stay again if I'm ever back through the area.

Very nice park with big, wide spaces and huge dog run areas, both for leashed and off leash. The office folks are friendly and welcoming. The park is right off the highway, but the traffic sounds were not bad. It is located far enough away from town for comfort, but close enough to access restaurants and grocery stores. We will put this park on our list of favorites.

Our stay at Centennial RV was nothing short of fantastic! The impeccable cleanliness and thoughtful organization of the entire facility truly stood out. It's evident they pay incredible attention to every detail. What impressed us most, however, was their intuitive and attentive staff. They seemed to anticipate our every need, providing answers and solutions before we even had to voice a question. This level of foresight and care made our trip incredibly smooth and enjoyable. We're already planning our next visit!

We can’t speak highly enough about the park manager- Shae, the care that goes into the grounds, and the overall environment. It’s very quiet, beautiful and even the tenants are friendly. We have been full time RV-ing for ten years, and this has been one of our favorite resorts! The view is also stunning. And, despite being near the highway, it’s actually incredibly quiet and peaceful!

One of the best locations to stay in the area. .However I take issues with a few things that have occurred. I have large dogs and they obviously do shed on my clothes. The staff is usually very nice most especially Shay but on my last trip. I want to use the laundry room and all the machines were taken I belive they have 4 washers. I finally got to use the machines one at a time throughout the day. I put my bedsheets out to fry at the campsite as they dryers were still full. I went to walk one of my dogs and one of the staff members quickly approached me and rather aggressively told me that I had left the laundry room a disaster there was dog fur everywhere and his wife was having to clean up after me. I was shocked at his attitude number one and I had only washed one load of bed sheets and a throw. I explained I would have to see what he was talking about myself. I returned to the laundry room my 2nd load was in the washer. I expected to see the laundry room with graphitti and soap suds all over the floor from way I was basically attacked. To my surprise there were maybe 5 lint balls on the entrance mat!!!! The staff was reaching inside the washer with a cloth cleaning out the machine. Now mind you I had already checked the machine removed a lint ball and ran my hand on the inside of the machine to make sure there was no other debris prior to me leaving with my items...after reaching in I had gathered my stuff up in a ball from the machine and left to hang out at my campsite over my chairs to dry. The staff lady as I stated was acting if I had washed dog bedding in the machine and proceeded to scold me as if I was her child. I asked her to get me a broom and dustpan immediately so I could sweep the floor myself which had nothing on it but 5 hair/lint balls which I pointed to and asked this??? ThIS??? Is what all this production is about a barely dirty floor mat at 2pm in the afternoon? I then swept behind one of their dryers and swept up maybe a 6 x 10 inch piece of lint feom the backside of one of the dryers I had not even used. I proceeded to tell them I would never use their laundry facility again after being accused of washing dog bedding which I did not do in the first place nor do my animals due to size sleep in my bed. I'm not sure who had used the machines prior but I walked over to get my 2nd load out removed the lint ball feom the throw I had washed that was the size of maybe a golf ball and demanded the lady to come show me how she cleaned the washer as I had not according to them done it to their satisfaction prior. She wiped the empty washer with her cloth and there was nothing for her to show me as fur or lint. What a ridiculous accusation and most definitely over reaction they had to absolutely nothing. I swore then I would never use their laundry I do NOT allow people to disrespect me and speak to me in such a militant way and if I were a child. 30 yrs in customer service and I have never talked to anyone in such a manner. They also mow their grass weekly which isn't even needed weekly it basically is just using a riding mower to drive over a small area 40 by 20 I assume to only justify their job or free rent there. While it is one of the nicer places in the area after this incident I would stay down the street instead of here ever again because of the way over the top reaction. I wish to God I had my phone in hand to have taken the picture of the 5 fur/lint balls of yellow hair so I could attach to this. There is such a thing as over policing a common area and people.. this location because of the staff would fall under that category. The management should discuss guest interactions with staff. I paid for 2 months and left the next day after this interaction due to a medical issue and decided to never return I paid someone to move the camper offsite as I live 24 hours away.

My wife Kelly and I have been all over the state and this is by far one of the most complete and well put together RV sites on the western slope. Carina and company are absolutely fantastic. Clean, warm , and friendly facilities. Thanks for the opportunity to be in a safe space

Stayed there a few weeks ago. The spots were good size and big rig friendly. The front desk woman was very nice. We were there when they had the auroras and the comet and luckily we were able to see both! The auroras you could see from the park and away, for the comet we went to a different area.

We have stayed at Centennial for 4 years all summer. Shae who manages it is amazing. She is super friendly and is always willing to help in anyway. The other long term staff are also great. Very welcoming and helpful. The bathrooms and laundry are always extremely clean. The park is very quiet. Would highly recommend.
