An amazing weekend!! Can’t believe this was always so close to home and we’re just finding it! From the waterpark, the ice cream and gift shop, the activities, mining, mini golf, block parties, and the adorable cabin we stayed in, we never had to leave the resort. Pizza and burgers were spot on..

My family has been vacationing at Chesnut Bay Resort for nearly 15 years, usually brining close to 50 people here every summer for at least a week. While we plan on continuing to return, we are sorely disappointed with the cleanliness of not only the rental houses, but the resort as a whole. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed that the handrails on both flights of stairs were filthy. We cleaned them and you can see the wipe from just one pass down the railings. Additionally, the doors upstairs in our house were splattered with what appears to be soda. Another issue is how dirty the patios are. The sliding door tracks are filthy, and the furniture is covered in so much dirt that you can’t even sit out there to enjoy company. All of the dishes in the cabinets are covered in grease, there is hair on baseboards, and the overall quality of every house that is not new has declined greatly. Also, our family spends a great deal of time at the pool, which is in desperate need of a deep clean, or a total refinish. All in all, these houses need to be deep cleaned at least once a month. Baseboards should be scrubbed, walls and doors wiped down, door tracks cleaned, decks power washed, fans dusted, cleaning cycles ran in the washing machine and dishwasher, etc. We are going to hope that our visit back next summer shows us that things have improved!

Our family of 16 enjoyed house. 14. The pools were nice. The staff was friendly and helpful especially Lettie at the main office . Brandy at the activities building and foam activity was so sweet with the children. The golf cart was needed.The ice cream was good. There is food at the store near water park, but glad we knew to bring food for house so we did not have to drive several miles back into town often. The water park was crowded on Sat., but fun. There was a long line for a while to get in. Probably better not to come at the first. The view from our upstairs deck was pretty— the lake with small mts. In background. Some liked the kayaks. I wish they had paddle boats. We made good memories.

My family had a great time in house #49. Great view of the lake and very close to a pool that my 5 year old grandson loved. Already looking at booking for next summer. The staff was very friendly as well.

My office brings a group of students to Chesnut Bay every year in early February. We always try to stay in the Grits Carlton, and we absolutely love it. The house is beautiful and spacious, and the students love the cozy, warm vibe. We are already looking forward to next year.

Over this past week my classmates met at "the main house"#45 for our Christmas spectacular. Spacious and nice. We did have a lil cleaning to do once we arrived but nothing major. Our rooms were decorated nice the whole house is nice. We have visited some of the others before. By far this is our favorite. We enjoyed ourselves and we will be back. One more thing an iron and ironing board would be nice..

Our family always enjoys our stays at Chestnut Bay. Our last visit was relaxing in Rental # 11. However, We would suggest either a ramp or better steps for entering. Also, porch lighting is needed for better nighttime visibility as the outdoor lighting in the area was not working and there was no outdoor lighting on the property. Ottomans would be a welcomed addition to the family area.

My extended family has been meeting at Chestnut Bay for Thanksgiving for several years. There is variation among the homes but all have been more than adequate. The view of Lake Weiss is magnificent.
