Clarks Custom Camp
Overview
Clarks Custom Camp offers a straightforward and dependable resting point for travelers navigating the vast landscape of Central Nevada. Located in the historic town of Goldfield, this park provides a functional base for those exploring the rugged beauty of the high desert. It is widely known for its quiet atmosphere and welcoming environment, making it a preferred choice for RVers who value a peaceful night of rest away from the noise of more populated transit hubs.
Location & Surroundings
Set against the backdrop of the High Desert, the park is surrounded by the unique architecture and weathered history of a town that once thrived during the gold rush. At an elevation of over 5,000 feet, the air is crisp and the nights are exceptionally dark, offering spectacular views of the Milky Way. The terrain is characteristic of the Great Basin, featuring sagebrush and wide-open horizons that define the classic Nevada road trip experience.
Amenities & Park Features
The park focuses on providing essential services with reliability. Guests can expect full hookups including 30 and 50-amp electricity, water, and sewer connections. The sites are primarily level gravel pads designed to accommodate various rig sizes, including larger motorhomes. While the park maintains a minimalist, rustic feel, it provides the necessary infrastructure for a comfortable stay, including access to on-site laundry facilities and clean restroom areas for its visitors.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Goldfield is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts and photographers. Just a short distance from the park, visitors can explore the International Car Forest of the Last Church, a unique art installation featuring cars buried nose-first in the sand. Within the town itself, the historic Goldfield Hotel and the old High School offer glimpses into the early 20th century. Wandering the streets allows travelers to see various historic mining structures and quirky local art displays.
Who This Park Is Best For
This location is ideal for independent travelers and history buffs looking to immerse themselves in the lore of the Old West. It is particularly well-suited for those driving between Las Vegas and Reno who need a reliable mid-point stop. If you prefer the charm of a small-town atmosphere over the amenities of a luxury resort, Clarks Custom Camp provides the perfect balance of utility and local character for your Nevada adventure.

Nice and quiet spot with hookups. Great for passing through 95. Hot shower was heaven after being on the road. Georgia was wonderful at check in. Level spots on gravel.

Was told about this place on boondocking site. 50amp service. Super cool town. The hostess was great. Rock, gold and ghost hunting. We will go back to see more of the town.

Georgia welcomed us after hours and even provided a 50 Amp adapter for our 30 Amp trailer. The park was clean, easily accessible from the main road and had very reasonable rates fior a full hookup park. The town of Goldfield was fascinating! Don't miss the Santa Fe Saloon for a feel of the old West.

Stopped here for the night headed from Reno to Vegas. The manager (owner?) was an absolute doll! She was super helpful. The site was clean and huge! Super easy pull through so we didn’t even need to disconnect. The 50amp worked flawlessly! Thank you for a pleasant stay!

Great little dog park. Nice free shower. Convenient for exploring Goldfield. Alaki hot springs was nice but hard to get in for me, an older person. I wish I had brought a step ladder. Gem field was a great place to find Gems 💎. We brought 14lbs home. Lots of history in this area.

Comfortable stopover for a night or two. Nothing fancy. Gravel parking. Large enough spaces to leave tow vehicle hooked up. Very good utilities, 30/50 amp, good water and pressure, sewer hookups. By a road but speed limit is only 25. There is a lot of stuff to look at in this area; old towns, mines, etc. lots of famous people lived here at one time; Mark Twain, Virgil and Wyatt Earp, Hotel Goldfield was once the most opulent hotel between Chicago and San Francisco.

Great place to stay a night or a week, and enjoy the surrounding attractions. Very friendly and helping community.

Great park, clean, well maintained & the manager Georgia is a rarity these days. She's genuine, honorable, conscientious and extremely knowledgeable of the area. She knows all her guests before they arrive and has information, adventures and things to do already lined upped based on each individual campers interests. During our recent stay she arranged for her brother to include a group of campers who are off-road enthusiasts in his club's ride. She knows our interests and each time we visit she has ideas in place for us. We wouldn't stay anywhere else when in the area. We also were able to view Elon Musk's Starlink stream across the sky; see 3rd picture. The sites are well graded, include an ample cement pad, 50amp service, sewer hookups and very clean, refreshing water.

As RV parks have in central Nevada along a VERY long stretch of road, this one can take care of your needs, just don't expect nothing fancy or shade trees. 50 amps. Showers. Hard pack dirt and picnic table. Explore goldfield! It is rich in Nevada history and the people are great.
